144 NEW YORK SHOW, WEEK OF JANUARY 11, 1904. GRR 3.--[HIMABURA?] TROUPE.-- Russian singers and dancers, consisting of two men and a woman. The singing, with which they open their act, was rather bad, and we cut that out. The girl sings a "coon" song in broken English dialect in the middle of the act, however, that is quite taking and the dancing is really novel. It is a good three-show-a-day act. 11 minutes, full stage. HR 3--MITCHELL.--Ventriloquist. This fellow is a fairly good ventriloquist, using only two figures, and while his line of talk is not especially brilliant, he still has good control of his voice, and it can be called a fairly good small act. 18 minutes, open full stage, and can close in one if necessary. ER 3--KLEIN & CLIFTON.--A man and a woman in a singing, dancing, and talking act. Both of them being exceptionally good dancers and fairly good singers. The act is always good in this house. 15 minutes, in one. ER 3--LAVINE & CROSS.-- Two young men in about as good an acrobatic act as I have seen in many a day. In fact, they do some tricks that I have never seen done before, and they are all performed cleverly and with no apparent effort. 14 minutes, full stage. SR -3.--JOHN HOEY.-- This is a young fellow (formerly of the team of Hoey & Austin) doing a talking and singing act, in which the singing is by far the best feature of it. His talk does not amount to much, but he has two or three parodies that are really good and he got away with it all right. 12 minutes, in one. YYH -2--SMITH & FULLER.-- The team now consists of Theodore Smith and Minnie St. George. The act is very strong in this house, and Miss St. George's singing alone makes it stand out. Their bell playing at the finish of the act is also very good, their selections of music being exceptionally happy. 24 minutes, open full stage and close in one. YHR 2--MR. & MRS. MARK MURPHY.-- In the Irish comedy sketch which they did over the circuit last season and which went stronger than ever. 25 minutes, full stage. GRR -2--MARY DESMOND.--This is a singer who made her first American appearance here to-day. She is a stunning looking woman, dresses beautifully, and has an excellent voice. She made quite an impression this afternoon, and I look for her to go even stronger at night. 10 minutes in one. GNH 2--PANTZER TRIO.-- Two women and a man in what is undoubtedly the best contortion act on the vaudeville stage today. They are neat, clean looking people, and the women manager to do some exceedingly difficult feats of contortion without giving offense. 12 minutes, full stage. GYH -2--RAE & BROSCHE.-- A man and a woman in a comedy sketch entitled "A Woman of Few Words." The man appears as a neatly dressed German and the woman works straight. The act is always good here and made a hit this afternoon. 20 minutes, open and close in one. GHR 2--HARRY LE CLARIE.--Impersonator of female characters. Le Clarie is a very clever artist. He has some magnificent dresses and looks the part to perfection. He introduced some new business this afternoon. One of his songs, in the character of a "slavey", called "All on Account of a Sailor," making a big hit. He closes now with his impersonation of Mephistopheles in one. He uses a special drop and occupies about five minutes. 23 minutes, open full stage and close in one. MRR--2--FRED BOND & DO.-- In a sketch, "My Awful Dad," which he has done on the circuit before and which went fully as strong as ever, although I agree with the rest of the circuit that the woman he uses is not so good an actress as the one he formerly had. Still, the audience did not seem to notice the difference. 24 minutes, full stage.
