153 Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., week of January 18, 1904. (Charles Lovenberg) Show is very good but hardly up to that of last week, in my opinion. There is no newness to the big end of the bill and also somewhat overloaded with material. Adair & Dahn. Wire act, They do the usual tight wire walk including the "cake walk" which is the feature of their turn. From a three a day standpoint should be classed as good. 10 min. full stage, 3 shows. Ruth Nelta. Coon songs. From a three a day standpoint she also should be rated as good. Could stand a little bit better place on the bill than I am able to give her. 10 min. in one, 3 shows. Herbert Deveaux. Crayon artist. Among the best that I ever knew. 18 min. full stage, 3 shows. Mitchell & Marron. Burlesque Minstrel act which was received with marked favor this afternoon, the singing going especially well. 20 min. in one, 3 shows. Julius Tannen. This act was described by Boston last week and to my mind the young man is very clever. He didn't seem to reach the crowd this afternoon due, I think, to the fact, that the audience are not familiar with the characters he impersonates. 12 min. in one, 2 shows. Mr. & Mrs. Mark Murphy. In "Why Doogan Swore Off". This act is well known on the circuit and needs no comment at this time except to say that it was well received. 22 min. in 3, 2 shows. Adolph Zink. Impersonations of well known Actresses and Actors given in costume. Biograph pictures of him making his changes in the dressing room being shown while he is changing costumes. As he is a little fellow and attractive together with the novelty of the Biograph pictures the act goes first rate especially with the ladies but to my mind it does not contain a great deal of actual merit. I would not care for it again for a while any way. 21 min. in one, 2 shows. Mr. & Mrs. Sidney Drew. In the "Yellow Dragon". On this they are supported by three other people all men, and the play is quite a pretentious one. Drew, to my mind, is a very clever Actor and makes the most of his work. The act went very well this afternoon. 22 min. full stage, 2 shows. Shean & Warren. In their familiar act "Quo Vadis Upside Down" While the act is unquestionably very funny it has become very stale, and does not go as strong as formerly. I shall have to cut them out until they give us something new. 18 min. open in one, close full stage, 2 shows. Dillon Brothers. In their familiar parody act and in which they give us quite a little new material, and which was well accepted by the audience. 15 min. in one, 2 shows. Cushman, Holcomb & Curtis. These people are also due for something new and should be cut off the circuit, or out of this House at least until they get it. 25 min. open in three, close in one, 2 shows. Howard's Ponies & Dogs. This is to my mind one of the prettiest animal acts in the business and murmurs of admiration could be heard all over the theatre during the performance. She proved very attractive to us for
