160 CHASE'S THEATRE. WASHINGTON, D. C. Week Jan. 25th. Carmen Sisters. They are unusually good banjoists and made a very excellent impression here. Act good enough to go any place on the bill. All in one. Herbert Lloyd. Assisted by Miss Lilyan he presented a low comedy act full of laughable nonsense with some juggling and a little of everything and had the audience in an uproar all the time. Full stage and can close in one. George H. Wood. There are some audiences who would like Mr. Wood very much, but to me his work is long drawn out and his material not very modern. All in one. The Sandor Trio. These herculean gymnasts stand in the very first rank and their work on the rings is exceptionally good. Full stage. Intermission. Loris and Altina. Their shooting is done with great precision and skill and our only disappointment was that they did not present new features since last season which they promised us. Full stage. Raymond and Caverly. these men are good comedians with a line of talk and songs that was very acceptable and pleased. Full stage closing in one, but can do entire act in one. Hal Davis-Inez Macauley & Co. They are presenting a semi-comedy and melodramatic one act play entitled "Pals", which is splendidly constructed, bright in lines, beautiful stage setting and a clever interpretation by Mr. Davis and his players. The fight on the stairway is one of the most realistic pieces of acting we have ever seen and brings a climax which causes the audience to rise in their seats and applaud until the curtain is raised and lowered numerous times. It is our judgment that there is not a stronger offering in vaudeville today. Full stage. The American Vitagraph. Presents views of "Alice in Wonderland" which are very good. H. Winnifred De Witt.
