164 CRITICISM, KEITH'S BIJOU. January 25th. 1904. STEREOPTICON. Usual collection of slides. 10 minutes. EDITH HENNEY & DOROTHY KNAPP. Drop in one. 10 minutes. Two young Philadelphia girls singing two songs and closing with clog waltz dance. Each of the songs were very well received as well as the dancing. The act closed to good applause and proved a satisfactory opening act. 3 shows. ELDORA & NORINE. Garden in 4. 16 minutes. Two men, one dressed as woman impersonator. Eldor's juggling work being fully up to his satisfactory standard, the rapidity with which he works and the accuracy of his style earning him good applause and carrying him off in good shape. The comedy incident to the act amounts to nothing whatever. 3 shows. ROSALIE TYLER. Drapery in one. 10 minutes. A colored girl billed as a Creole Nightingale who failed to reach that standard as per collection of songs and if she ever possessed the voice attributed to the Nightingale it has disappeared or she lost it on her trip from New York. Very light applause after each of her songs and if possible lighter at her close. 3 shows. Mr. & Mrs. Larry Shaw. Drop in one. 10 minutes. Man & woman in dancing specialties. Opening in a song they betrayed the fact that they are not by any means singers. The dancing incident to the act carried them off to only fair applause. 3 shows. NEIL MC NEIL & CO. C. D. F. 21 minutes. In "A Bit of Nonsense" A sketch, the familiarity of the players with which was not apparent. Without doubt this being the first appearance on any stage was the reason for this defect. McNeil however, displayed considerable ability as a comedian. The girl is light for the part she plays and while it cannot be classed among the good 2-a-day sketches it is probable that when it is strongly whipped into line it may be an addition to the acts that we are on the lookout for. 2 shows. WALTER DANIELS. drop in one. 13 minutes. Received a light reception, the first of the day. His act is a familiar one on the Circuit, but this being his first appearance here, the first impression he made was good, being of good appearance and an intelligent and clever talker, able to entertain with his talk preceeding the different impersonations, as well as with the impersonation, each one of which was well received and enabled him to close very well. 3 shows. KELLY & KENT. C.D.F. 20 minutes. 5 minutes in one at the close. Kelly's appearance brought forth the best reception of the day, and his act, which is well known over the circuit was very well received, all through, and at its close earned 3 or 4 recalls which were acknowledged with mere bows. Certainly the hit of our show to-day. 2 shows. COLBY & WAY. C.D.F. 21 minutes. Colby's clever ventriloquial work and up-to-date line of talk interested his Auditors from the beginning, the girl as the dancing doll doing very little to aid the impression made by Colby. Well received all through and gaining good applause at the finish. 2 shows. ted here during the past five or six weeks is without doubt [???] and from the viewpoint of business we should be benefited during the balance of the week. E.P. LYONS.
