171 CRITICISM OF SHOW. KEITH'S NEW THEATRE,PHILA. Hodgkins & [Lai??]-15 mins.-C.D.F. in 2-Man and woman, in a rural sketch. Isn't a great deal to recommend it for anything, but just a fair three-a-day act. No harm as an opener. THE HOLDSWORTHS-11 mins. in one-Man and woman, vocalists and banjoists. Woman has a rather harsh voice. An acceptable little act for the early bill. Good for three-a-day, but not in the two-class. MARLOW, PLUNKETT & CO.-Two men and a woman, in a comedy sketch "A Lesson in Shakespeare." A little to talky to be very entertaining. The comedy is slapstick. All right for an early place on the bill. Good three-a-day. Gets lots of laughs. 20 mins.-C.D.F. in 3 FITZPATRICK & TAPPER-12 mins. in one-Two girls, in a neat singing and dancing sister act. Not amateurs. Put on to fill in 10 minutes short time. Fifty dollars for three-a-day. Good little sister act. Have been over the circuit before. [FARLARDO?]-10 mins. in one-Man, instrumental music. Good novelty act. His work is a change from the ordinary routine, and pleased. Good three-a-day act. SMITH & POWELL-15 mins. in one-Two coons, man and woman, in a comedy singing and dancing act. The man is really funny and is a good comedian. The whole act is good-very good in spots, and is full of life action and ginger. Good act. the man was the comedian of the "Six Blackbirds." The woman was also with that sextette. TWO LAMONTS-10 mins.-Pal. in 4-Three people worked--two men and a woman-in an acrobatic and hand balancing act. They introduce a few new stunts with the girl, and although they work a bit slow, they make up for it in quality. Good, neat act. MARIE SCHAUM-11 mins. in one-Local vocalist, with a large following among musical people. A very good singer. She made good, and will draw money all the week. HERBERT LLOYD-15 mins.-Landscape in 4-Comedy juggler, assisted by Miss Lilyan. With the one exception of W. C. Fields, he is the most unusually well. Had a great deal of new stuff, which received roars of laughter. He seems to have improved in his delivery. A very strong act. HOWARD'S PONIES-17 mins.-Garden in 4-Howard lost his monkeys and wardrobe in the Louisville fire. He has new, bright trappings, and they dress the act nicely. The horses and dogs work well, and the whole act is very good. BIOGRAPH-20 mins. in one-Good selection. COMMENT-The show is very good, but seems to be burdened with singing and dancing acts. This could not be helped. H. A. DANIELS.
