180 Criticism. Keith's Bijou. Feb. 8th. 1904 #2. a well selected bunch were done as well perhaps as a boy his age could do them. From the artistic standpoint it was clear they amounted to nothing but earned them a large amount of applause in the closing of the act. This was probably due to the good effect made by them earlier. 2 shows. EDMUND DAY & COMPANY. Own set. 27 minutes. A clever seacoast sketch by Day himself and presented cleverly enough to make it considerable of an addition to the sketches now reining in vaudeville. Both the men were strong but the girl seems too light and weak for her portion and could easily be improved upon. However they gained good applause at the close. 2 shows. CHAS. M. ERNEST. Blackface Monologuist. Street in one, 20 minutes. A slight reception but was notably at a disadvantage by following so many clever acts and no part of his act was thoroughly well received. Will have to keep him in this position however as he fills in quite satisfactorily and closed to very fair applause. 2 shows. SANDOR TRIO. Garden in 4 10 minutes. A trio of gymnasts whose ring and strength work it would be hard to improve on. They have always hitherto gone strong in this house. The two strong men being fully equal to the best that came this way. Earned applause throughout the whole act and closed to very good applause. 2 shows. BIOGRAPH. 20 minutes. The film used at the new house last week, which was very satisfactory. We were obliged to procure it to replace very poor film forwarded us by the Biograph Company for this week's show. COMMENT. The audience this afternoon were of the quiet kind and did not seem to warm up to anything until about half of the bill was over. As a whole the bill is satisfactory and pleasing. While in the 3-a-day-section we are probably not as fortunate in securing a large number of satisfactory acts as we have been for some weeks past, it strikes me that they all will be better appreciated during the latter part of the week, and the last half of the bill will easily compare with any yet shown here. As to business I fully believe that the satisfactory attendance of the past few weeks will be duplicated and perhaps surpassed during the present week. E. P. LYONS.
