191 Criticism. Keith's Bijou, Feb. 15th. 1904. #2. MR. & MRS. GARDNER CRANE. C. D. F. 28 minutes. Their familiar sketch "Am I Your wife" containing many humorous lines and situations, which was well received and closed to fairly good applause. 2 shows. James R. Glenroy, Drop in one. 17 minutes. Glenroy received a slight reception, really the first reception of the day and he comes out in a makeup different from what he has previously shown. Good impression at first made by him was carried well through to the end. Glenroy, fortunately has an entire new line of stuff, and also fortunately has cut out his epitaphs, introducing many familiar names in this town. His act gained much laughter and enabled him to close to very good applause. 2 shows. PANTZER TRIO. C. D. F. 12 minutes. In their familiar acrobatic specialty. The clever work of the two girls and the really wonderful contortion work of the male member of the trio, gaining them frequent bursts of applause and enabling them to close good and strong. Went as strong to-day as it has in a number of years. 2 shows. JULIAN ROSE/ Street in one. 19 minutes. Rose in his familiar stunt, introduces a number of new parodies and a new line of talk, with the exception of a few old time jests, which he seems to be able to make as attractive as they have ever been. Closed very strong and earned several re-calls, and certainly made good in this difficult position. WINSCHERMAN'S PERFORMING BEARS. Wood in 4. 14 minutes. Introduces a number of bears and monkeys. The act certainly has not improved of late, and appeared to-day as if none of the animals were trained and schooled to their work. They can hardly hold down this position at the close of the bill and closed to only fair applause. 2 shows. BIOGRAPH. 20 minutes. A show fully up to the Biograph's standard and probably made so by one picture, "The Deserter" which is instructive interesting and able to gain considerable applause. Comment. As a whole the show may be said to be up to our standard, as a matter of fact the only two weak acts are The Two Macks at the opening and Winscherman's Bears at the close. The whole of the bill, with these two exceptions, being thoroughly satisfactory, entertaining and without doubt genuine applause winners. The O'Rourke & Burnette Trio were really the strong hit of the show to-day, due to the fact that their young off-spring is very clever and his good impression were doubtless influenced by the creditable appearance of Buster Keaton who was here last week. With such a bill the business should keep up to the top-notch and result in a most satisfactory week for us. P. S. Howard & Bland who were billed by us, did not appear and we knew nothing of their intention not to, until Crimmons & Gore were sent over from New York. They will take Howard & Blands place and a criticism of their act will be appended. Crimmons & Gore did not arrive in time to work to-night. E. P. LYONS.
