208 New york Show--Week of February 29th.--2. NH 2 BROOKS BROS.-- Two young men, one of them making up white face and the other in black face, and doing a really clever talking act. Although it is a 3-show-a-day act, I was obliged this afternoon to give them a very prominent place on the bill, and it transpired that their work fully warranted it, for they held the attention of the audience thoroughly and created lots of laughter. 18 minutes in one. MYH 2 CLAYTON WHITE & MARIE STUART & CO.--Consisting of Mr. White, Miss Stuart, and one other lady, in an act which he calls "Paris." It is in effect, a sort of sequel to the old act of "Dicky", the characters being the same with the exception that for his tough representation Mr White instead of giving the imitation of an athlete shows his conception of a rough ward politician, and it is needless to say that it is an awfully funny bit of work. The audience fairly screamed every moment he was on. His makeup was very funny and there is probably no man in this country better able to impersonate this sort of a character than he. The act also gave Miss Stuart an opportunity to introduce her specialties, and I consider it at least equal to the old one in every way so far as laughs are concerned. 31 minutes, full stage. GYH 2 CARSON & WILLARD.--German comedians. They had a very hard place on the bill this afternoon, largely because the show was ten or fifteen minutes late, and they caught a large part of the audience going out. However, as soon as they got down to work and the audience got quieted down they went ahead and did a good act. 15 minutes in one. GYH 2 PARKER'S DOGS.-- Parker has been over the circuit too frequently to require comment of his act. It is one of the best animal acts we play. 15 minutes, full stage. HR 3 BIOGRAPH.-- They gave us a very good selection of views this week. The feature of which was a long film illustrating the escape of a lunatic from an asylum and pursued by three of the keepers, which gave an opportunity for some very funny situations. The finish where the lunatic finally goes back and breaks into the institution again makes a big hit. 20 minutes in one. S. K. HODGDON.
