209 CRITICISM, KEITH'S BIJOU, #2. Feb. 29th. was loath to part with them to-day. Earned a couple of recalls and closed probably stronger than any other on the bill. 2 shows. FREDERIC BOND & CO. Special set in 4. 27 minutes. Bond presented his sketch already familiar to the Circuit, "My Awful Dad", in his breezy, clever and pleasing style, In addition he is well supported. The dialogue throughout was interesting and provocative of laughter and applause. As it was new to our audience here, closed very strong, in fact, it would be difficult to recall a sketch that has been so well received for a number of years back. 2 shows. MURPHY & FRANCIS. Drapery in one. 18 minutes. Colored comedy couple, man and woman. The male member formerly being of Murphy & Slater. His previous act was considerably stronger than the one presented to-day, and in fact he did not display his cleverness, until copying some of the work he did on his previous visit here. They gained satisfactory applause for a recall but finally made their exit to only light applause. 3 shows. HOWARD'S PONIES AND DOGS. Garden in 4, 20 minutes. Four ponies and two dogs in a conventional animal act, which was unusually well received for this style of act. Unusual with many animal acts, this one seemed to please our audience very well. While I cannot say that it is any better than the usual class we get here, it closed very well and might be called a good animal act. 2 shows. BIOGRAPH. An ordinary collection of pictures, including a number of fair comedy views. It can hardly be said to be up to the standard of views, lately sent us by the Biograph Company. 20 minutes. COMMENT. After the most excellent bill of the last week and the very good shows of the two weeks preceeding last week this one cannot be said to reach the mark placed by them. We are lacking somewhat in the comedy element but as the last half of the show was very well received, I look for no diminution of receipts for the balance of the week. While the receipts for the week will probably not come up to last week's high mark, I look for satisfactory results. E.. P.. LYONS. A rearrangement of the bill made the whole show go better to-night than it did this afternoon. E. P. LYONS, P.
