219 TEMPLE THEATRE, DETROIT, MICHIGAN. Week of Mar. 7, 1904. KLEIN & CLIFTON: Man and woman. Singing dance and comedy. Fair act, well dressed. Does well for an opening act. 15 mins in one. DE WITT, BURNS & TORRENCE: Two men and a woman. An acrobatic specialty "The Awakening of Toys". This is not only a novel act, but a first class one in every respect. The woman has nothing to do, however, but look pretty. 13 mins. F S. CARLETON & TERRE: Two men, in "A String Town Yap", This is a sidewalk conversation act, not above the ordinary. There are some bright lines. 11 in one BLIND TOM: This historical character made an immense hit, although his talent as a pianist has been overdrawn, his act is not enhanced by his automaton-like appearance, his explanatory address and his custom of applauding himself. As a freak and as a drawing card he is great. 25 mins. F S. GASCH SISTERS: Two girls. Foreigners. Acrobats and equilibrists. These girls are without any question the greatest in their line on the vaudeville stage. Their handstands, feats of head to head balancing and ground tumbling are the best ever seen here and are superior to many male acts that have appeared from time to time 7 mins. F. S. Gracie Emmett & Co: IN "Mrs. Murphy's Second Husband". This act is too well known for extended mention. Her company is good and act went great. 24 mins. F. S. EDNA AUG: This young woman is deemed clever by many managers, but personally, I do not see anything extraordinary in her work. To my mind she is totally lacking in personal magnetism, she cannot sing, and for life of me, I cannot see where she is worth the money. But still she appears to please our audience 22 mins in one. SPaDONI: This foreigner is a man of herculean strength. He juggles great cannon balls as though they were eggs, and bears the weight of great automobile, drawn up over him by aid of a tackle and pulley and altogether he creates a great impression on those who admire this sort of an act. 21 mins. F. S. T. NELSON DOWNS. Coin Palmer. this man is good looking personality, a bright line of talk, and is superior to the many coin palmers that we have played. 17 in one.
