222 CRITICISM OF SHOW. KEITH'S NEW THEATRE, PHILA. MAR. 14TH CALVIN JACKSON-15 mins. in one-Electrical act, put on for a trial to fill in time at the opening. No harm done, but we hardly think it would do for the circuit. Kills 10 to 15 mins--and saves light. MILT & MAUD WOOD-15 mins.-Gar. in 2-Man and woman; singing, with a little acrobatic dancing. Man does some very good wooden shoe dancing, which was the applause-getter, and the best thing in the act. Good three-a-day act. CHRISTIAN & TURNER-15 mins.-Landsc. in 4-Two men, skating act, one working straight, other as comedian. Act is somewhat of a novelty. Very good three-a-day act. CAL STEWART-15 mins. in one-Rube monologue; has some new stuff that seemed to please; winds up with a laughing song; received a fair amount of applause. Good three-a-day act. ZARNES DUO-12 mins.-Gar. in 4-Man and woman, trapeze act; a neat, showy little act that succeeded in thoroughly entertaining. Very good three-a-day act. BROOKS BROS.-15 mins. in one-Talking act, very well known on the circuit. The "A stands for Ireland" comedian always seems to go well here. Good three-a-day act. FLOOD BROS.-12 mins.-Gar. in 3-Two men, in a corking good comedy acrobatic act. The work is excellent, and the comedy is above the average. Good act. Received deserved applause. EDOUIN & EDWARDS-22 mins.-C.D.F. in 3-In their well known sketch "A Bachelor's Dream." They have been here before. Miss Edouin seemed to hold the attention of the audience with her clever character work, and the act proved entertaining throughout. Good act. JESSIE COUTHOUI-15 mins. in one-Monologue; very well known on the circuit; doing the same act she has presented for some time; always goes well here, if not on too late; good act; received many laughs. MARTINETTI & GROSSI-14 mins.-C.D.F. in -close in one-Two men, musical act, which is a novelty. The act is full of surprises, and musical instruments are located in the most unusual places. The audience seemed immensely interested and fully appreciated the novelty. Good act. EDDIE FOY & CO.-25 mins.-C.D.F. in 3-Assisted by a man, woman and girl, in "The Man Behind the Gun." Of course, Foy is the whole sketch. When He's on, the fun is fast and furious--and he's on a great deal of the time. He was a pronounced hit here, as elsewhere, and will draw money all week. Had to make his accustomed speed before the curtain, and then the audience stopped the show for more. RAYMOND & CAVERLY-18 mins. in one-Two men, German comedians, well known on the circuit. They had some new stuff. Always go well, here, if not on too late. Probably the best of German comedians. Good act. HOLLOWAY TRIO-17 mins.-Spec. Drop in 4-Wire act; too well known for comment; have played here three times; a very strong wire act; the boy dressed as the girl making the great hit. Applause throughout. KEITH'S, PHILA., PA. MAR. 14TH 2 BIOGRAPH-20 mins. in one-Good selection of views. H. A. DANIELS.
