Lyric Trio. This act was put in to replace R. J. Jose, who is laid up by illness. Those same people played last August in New York calling themselves the EMPIRE TRIO which name I requested them to change on account of the EMPIRE QUARTETTE. They do a mighty good turn and one which should be taken advantage of while it is cheap and they are willing to do three shows. They open with the trio from Attila and the two men sing a Miserere from Il ' Trovatore then the three sing a medley of the better grade of popular songs and for a final encore sing a song from "The Girl From Kays". They have all good voices and blend splendidly together; strong enough to go almost anywhere on the program and make good. They make a nice appearance and all in all it is a most desirable singing act. 15 min. in one, 3 shows, G Y H. Sherman-DeForrest Co. This act by no means made the great hit it has been making in the other houses. They got a big laugh on the bombardment with the cannon ballas and then a few laughs in between and that is about all there was to it. The curtain went down then with practically no applause whatever. At one-half the salary and put on at 8:30 I would consider it a mighty good act but for the money they get and depending upon them to hold down a hard place they are decided not in it for Providence. 10 min. full stage can close in one, 2 shows. Mayme Remington & Picks. In the best act she has ever given us. A lot of new material and the pickanninies doing some wonderfully clever stuff, making many changes of costumes and then making up as Indians coming from wigwams represented on their own drop. Crack-a-jack act. 15 min. in one, 2 shows. Four Sensational Boises. One of the best of the casting acts. 8 min. full stage, 2 shows. Biograph. I didn't get an opportunity to see.
