87 Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I. Week of February 13, 1905. (Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.) The show made good very thoroughly today but it is hardly as strong to me personally as it appears on paper, still I have no reason to find any great fault and think we will get a good week's business out of it. Curtis & May. In a little singing and dancing act with a bit of Dutch business by man and woman. From a three a day standpoint may be classed as fair. 15 min. in one, 3 shows. Kit Karson. Sharp-shooting on slack wire. Very clever act indeed. Would make good in a later place on the bill. 10 min. full stage, 3 shows. Three Mitchells. In their usual coon act which was well received. Good three a day act. 15 min. in one. Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy Barrie. The man of this team is a very clever comedian who is decidedly handicapped by the lady. She is absolutely "excess baggage" and aside from this is detrimental to the act. For that reason I can't see them. The act went well in spots where he was doing something individually, but finished rather tame. 23 min. close with about 5 min. in one, 2 shows. Four Dunbars. Casting act. These people do some good work and introduce in the act some good comedy. for that reason, in view of the novelty having gone from the acrobatic portion of this work, I prefer this team to any of the others although their casting, of course, is not in line with the Lukens. 10 min. full stage, 2 shows. Dixon and Holmes. These men have a very good act, figured from the standpoint of 2:30 and 8 and 8:15. From the three a day standpoint they are exceptionally good. As the act has been over the circuit there is no need for description. 22 min. in one, 3 shows. Ross & Fenton. I purposely gave these people an easy spot on the bill in order to save them as a head-liner figure feature. They went first rate but by no means made good for the salary they get either from the standpoint of artisticness or drawing power. 17 min. full stage, 2 shows. Stuart Barnes. Well known monologuist and singer who has some very good stuff but it was rather subtle and didn't seem to reach as strongly as his previous work. I rather expect he will go better with the night audience. 21 min. in one, 2 shows. Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Kelcy. In a comedy sketch "In Trust". These people are clever actors and while this sketch is all right it does not compare with their "Uncle Phineas", however it is a change and that counts. 20 min. in 3, 2 shows. Marion Garson. Soprano vocalist. The hit of the show. 10 min. in one, 2 shows.
