150 Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of April 17, 1905. (Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.) The show as a whole is quite satisfactory. In one or two spots it is a little bit disappointing but nothing that will do any great harm. Araminta & Burke. Combination of bars, trapeze and suspended ladder, by man and woman with some rather poor comedy by the man. It is a very good three a day act to open the show and even second or third on the bill, it would do no harm. 10 min. full stage, 3 shows. Bennet & Rich. One man made up as Infantry Officer, the other as comedy German Recruit. Some of their stuff is pretty old, parts of it new and for an easy place on the bill they are thoroughly all right. Singing is a little bit better than the average act of that kind offers. 18 min. in one, 3 shows. Heloise Jordenias. This is a local child about twelve years of age with a remarkably strong and high soprano voice. Excepting for training, one would think it was a cultivated vocalist singing. I got a special permit for her to play here which is out of the ordinary and if any house can do the same, makes a mighty good act for the three a day section. Could probably get her to go on the road for $40. 10 min. in one, 3 shows. The Pryors. Man and woman in a vocal, instrumental and dancing act. Good three a day turn. 12 min. open in 3, close in one, 3 shows. Pauline Cook and May Clinton. Rifle shots. I can't for the life of me understand why these girls get the salary they do and are permitted to get by with two shows. They do the poorest act, of the kind, of any of the teams that we play: all the others doing three shows. They miss almost as many shots as they make. They are not attractive, in any sense, in the refined houses and carry much of the Burlesque manner with them from which they emanated. I never want to see them again at anything like the salary or for two shows. 13 min. full stage, 2 shows. Walter Daniels. Impersonator, making up in full view of the audience. For the first time in this house this man got a place and really made good in first class shape. 15 min. in 1, 2 shows. "A Night in Venice". Very prettily costumed act with some attractive scenery and fairly good concerted singing. For the money, an especially good offering. 12 min. open full stage, giving a very short close in one, 2 shows. Ollie Young & Bro. Hoop-rollers. A good act although it compares in no sense with Everhart. All right on in the early two a day section. 10 min. full stage, 2 shows. Lillian Shaw. I don't know of any female entertainer in the "varieties" whom I would rather have than this girl. She has got lots of talent and ability and the audience quickly recognized it. I should like to book her for a return date for next season, at once, and should advise any house that hasn't had her to do the same and she will easily Biograph. O. K.
