CRITICISM - - CLEVELAND, O. - - APRIL 17th/
SELBINI & GROVINI, Bicycle Acrobatic Act. This is a good act to open a show with, and contains a little acrobatic work by both the man and the woman, some riding on the  bicycle, and also a little juggling. 9 minutes full stage.
CLAFLIN SISTERS. in character songs. This act is not good enough for this house. Time 12 minutes in one.
EDWIN STEVENS, in "A Night Out". He was fairly well received here yesterday afternoon and night, but did not go as well as expected. It wouldn't hurt if he got some new stories. Those that he told here yesterday are old chestnuts. He asked for full stage, but  could work in 2; finishes 6 minutes in one.
HERRMANN THE GREAT. Most of the stuff that he does is done by other magicians, and some of them are done better. The worst part of his act is that it's impossible to understand what he's talking about. He carries a lot of scenery, also 3 or 4 helpers, so that the act looks big from the front. Don't think he draws any money. Time 28 minutes full stage.
MISS ZOE MATTHEWS, in Songs. This lady was laying off here this week, and I put her in to save salary. She is singing 3 songs, and it is just a fair act. Can't recommend her.
WATERBURY BROS. & TENNEY, in a musical sketch called "A Cold Day in July". These people have been seen so often that it's time they were after something new. They have a good act just the same. 27 minutes full stage, with 5 minutes in one.
LESLIE & DAILEY, in the conceit "Going Abroad"
This is one of the best and newest laughing acts out this season, and is strong enough for any place on any bill. there's lots of slang in it, but it's good enough to pass inspection any place. Mr. Leslie certainly understands how to use it. There's also a little toe dancing done by Miss Maud Emery, which is very good. Time 22 minutes, with 3 minutes in one.
CHASSINO, Hand and Foot Shadowgraphist. This act is the hit of the bill, and is the best ever seen here. Time 12 minutes full stage.
AMERICAN BIOGRAPH. I am running but one film entitled "The Blacksmith's Daughter" a fairly good film. time 7 minutes.
