159 PHILADELPHIA SHOW, APR. 24TH'05. H. A. DANIELS. MAJESTIC TRIO-GRH-3-Colored. Two men and a woman, one of the men doing the comedy. Very good three show singing and dancing act. Could stand for a much better place. 15 mins. in one. GRACE LEONARD-HR-3-Character vocalist. Styled "The American Vesta Tilley." A good three show act for the money. Has a fair voice and makes a good appearance. 13 mins. in one. STEVERSON & BISSETT-AR-3-Forgot to check their trunk, in the Easter rush, and couldn't go on. will be on for the supper show. FERRELL BROS.-GRR-3-Bicyclists, one comedy, the other straight. A good three show sight act for the early bill. Went well. 17 mins. Garden in 4. THE PRYORS-NR-3-Man and woman, singing, dancing and musical act. Fair act. We have better earlier on the bill to-day. 11 mins. C.D.F. in 3. Close in one. COOKE & CLINTON-GYH-2-Two girls, rifle experts. Their work was applauded. Good act for the early two show section. 13 mins. Gar. in 4. LE TOY & WOODFORD-GRR-2-Man and woman, talking act. One of the rapid-fire variety. Man uses a great deal of slang, but gets away with it. Very good act; averaged a laugh every thirty seconds. 15 mins. in one. MAZUZ & MAZETT-GNH-2-The tramp and soubrette. A little acrobatic work; some comedy, but of the foreign kind. Good act for the early two show section; a bit slow for the late bill. They're in too swift company, even in this spot. 19 mins. Gar. in 4. Can close in one. AL LAWRENCE-NH-3-Did not have any new stuff. Monologue was laughed at in spots. Had some suggestive stuff, that was not real bad, but the act would be better without it. Cut out stories about girls' stockings, fine tooth comb, and church bells ringing for fire. 19 mins. in one. GIRARD & GARDNER-YHR-2-Sketch "Dooley and the Diamond." Third trip here. A good comedy act. Was almost a hit with the big holiday audience to-day. Good act, but a little old for our "regulars." 25 mins. C.D.F. in 3. KELLY & VIOLETTE-GHR-2-Man and woman, high-class vocalists. Neatly gowned, good looking woman, correctly dressed man. Good voices. Good act. More applause than any act up to this time. 17 mins. in one. CHASSINO-GHR-2-Hand and foot silhouettist. Second appearance here. A feature novelty act. A sure fire hit. Very good. Act contains a great deal of quiet comedy. 13 mins. Full Stage. ALBERT CHEVALIER-GARR-2-English singing comedian and character impersonator. Received advance applause. Every character was liberally applauded. Gave four impersonations. Act is heavily billed and should draw money. Am sure such a thoroughly artistic specialty will appeal strongly to our patrons. 25 mins. Spec. in one. THE ELGONAS-GRR-2-Man and woman. European gymnasts, working on the flying rings. Good act. 12 mins. Gar. in 4. NOTE:-Al. Lawrence closed, because with his severe cold he could only do two shows, and we wanted three.
