161 Boston Show, Week of April 24, 1905. Stereopticon, 3 shows, 5 min. in 1 -- Usual selection of interesting home and foreign views. Bennett and Rich, 3 shows, 16 min. in 1 -- Two men, in a singing and talking skit, "The German Recruit." Their work is not out of the ordinary; just about get by in the 3-show section. The BeAnos, 3 shows, 14 min. full stage -- Man and woman in a comedy acrobatic contortion act. Quick working couple and the act could go further down in the bill and make good. Good value for the 3-show section. Joe Belmont, 3 shows, 11 min. in 1 -- "The Human Bird", This man is a good second to Mildare, and we will move him down the bill for tomorrow. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Murphy, 2 shows, 19 min. in 3 -- In the singing and talking skit, "The Coal Strike." Their comedy is first class and they started the audience along the path of good humor. Conlin and Hastings, 3 shows, 15 min. in 1 -- Man and woman in a talking and singing specialty. Very poor act. Will move them up the bill to the place occupied by Joe Belmont. "Dida", 2 shows, 10 min. full stage -- Second week of this illusion and it went fully as well as last week. It is certainly creating wonderment. Nate Leipzig, 2 shows, 16 min. in 1 -- Manipulator of cards, billiard balls, etc. A very good act, went well in this spot in the bill. Got the first good hand of the afternoon. Bedini and Arthur, 2 shows, 17 min. full stage -- Went fully as well as last week. The burlesque on "Dida" was a scream. Celina Bobe, 2 shows, 14 min. in 1 -- A handsome and talented xylophone player, who is certainly an honor to the varieties. All her selections were enthusiastically encored, and they clamored for more. Gillette's Dogs, 2 shows, 18 min. short opening in 2, close full stage -- Musical and high leaping dogs. A great act for the children. Will move them down so as to get what juveniles we can after school hours. Irving Jones, 2 shows, 16 min. in 1 -- The well-known colored vocalist, in songs and stories. Got the first advance applause of the day and while his songs only went fair, his stories created shouts of laughter. 4. The Amorous Militiaman. Amusing. 5. The Incubator. Interesting picture, especially for women and children. "A Night in Venice", 2 shows, 11 min. full stage -- A very good musical act, and it is practically wasted in this spot in the bill. Comment -- The show is a good one and I think with a little rearrangement we will do good business throughout the week.
