Callahan and Mack, 2 shows, 20 min. in 3--Beautiful Irish comedy s e tch, "The Old Neighborhood". They had the best position they have ever had in this house. Act too well known on the circuit for any comment from me. Secured an excellent hand at the finish showing that many of the patrons had not seen it, or else, not for a long time. Otto Brothers, 3 shows, 12 min. in 1--German dialect comedians, singers and dancers. Their talk does not amount to much but their dancing and vocal imitations carried them off to good applause. Made good in this spot in the bill. Great LaFayette, 2 shows, 16 min. full stage--In a pantomimical spectacle, "The Lion's Bride". Quite spectacular in its way but it did not go nearly as well as the first part of his performance. Still it secured a fair amount of applause. George Evans, 2 shows, 27 min. in 1--Well-known blackface comedian, in some new songs and stories. As always, a scream all through. Can "make good" in any spot in the bill in this house. Meehan's Dogs, 2 shows, 15 min. full stage--Comedy and high leaping canines. One of the prettiest and best trained dog acts in the business. Went with applause all through. Biograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1--Showing the following list of pictures: 1. The Incendiary. Another one of the "pursuit" pictures good photographically and well carried out; got considerable applause at the finish. 2. With the German Fleet. Quite a good picture of this kind. 3. Opening of Parliament. Interesting. 4. Elephants at the Zoo. Fair picture. 5. The Bigamist's Trial. Fair. William La[Velle?], 3 shows, 15 min. open full stage, close in 1--Comedy juggler and hoop roller in tramp makeup. Received a fair amount of applause for this spot in the bill and we will change him with Browning Welp and Company. Comment:- It is an excellent bill and considering the very hot day, we had a good sized audience. The 3-show section was a vast improvement over last week, possibly excepting Browning Welp and Company. LaFayette's first act went with great applause bu the second fell down considerably. If we have any sort of weather the rest of the week I see o reason why we should not do good business.
