35 Kinetograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1--Showing the following list of interesting motion pictures: 1. Carnival Night. Pretty film. 2. A Childish Match. Interesting to women and children. 3. The Detective. Sort of a "thriller". We are very shy on comedy in this reel. Harry Evans, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1--Boy baritone and quite a good one at that. In this very poor spot he got big applause and were it possible I would be glad to give him a spot in the 2-show division. Edestus, 3 shows, 9 min. in 3--Equilibrist and a very clever one at that. From the 3-a-day standpoint, this is a very good act of the sort. Miles and Rickard, 3 shows, 13 min. in 1--Man and woman, vocalists with a little dancing. They make a fair appearance and for an act of the sort they do quite well in the 3-a-day section. Straight vocal acts, unless there is something particular to attract the eye or old favorites like Jose, have little value in this house, especially in the 3-a-day division where we get voices that make one ashamed to listen. Eddie Barto and Mamie Laferty, 3 shows, 10 min. in 1--Very clever acrobatic and toe dancers, with just enough vocalism to carry it along. From the 3-a-day standpoint, a very good act, one that could easily make good in a better spot on the bill. Comment:- The show is way ahead of that of last week. It drags a little with Hines and Remington, but to be fair, I think there is a big possibility that they will go much better with a few minutes clipped off. In the 3-show division we have one act too much singing. We should have had a sketch of some sort in place of Miles and Rickard. In spite of the fact that it was a perfect out-of-doors day, we had a very good audience this afternoon and I look for a big house tonight, and on the strength of which we should do good business for the balance of the week.
