--(2) COOK & SYLVIA: As usual the man's dancing was the feature of the act. Woman secured some little applause for her singing. Act closed very strong. 13 min. in one MINNIE DUPREE & CO: Man and woman. Presenting:-When the Earthquake Came" This is quite a dramatic offering. Tells the story of a woman after an earthquake seeking shelter in a home and there discovers her old sweetheart, who is on duty as an army officer. Some parts of the act pertaining to the result of the earthquake is rather serious, bringing tears to the eyes of the critics,-other parts they sanctioned with applause. Miss Dupree is rather clever. The man started off a little tame, but soon regained himself. This act I think will develop in time to a good dramatic sketch. The finish was strongly applauded. 16 min. full stage CARSON & WILLARD: This act had the critics guessing for a while this afternoon, as it was impossible to know whether they were Carson & Willard of Jones & Jones owing to a change of makeup, doing a refined German number. They are using the same material as when here before with some very good parodies and negotiated this place in fairly good shape. 13 min. in one HERBERT'S DOGS: One of the best acts of this kind we ever had. All of the various stunts were strongly applauded. Big applause on the finish. 12 min.-full stage KINETOGRAPHL "The [Pigeon?] Fairy" Fair "The Hand of the Artist" Novel. Very good. Will keep a second week "N. Y. Athletic Games" Quite interesting. Very good "Voyage around the stars" French film. Rather fakey, held the interest, however
