3. CURTIS & ADAMS, German Comedians:- 15 min. in 1. 3 shows. A quarter-hour of absolutely the worst imitation of near-wit imaginable, and I don't see how they can sleep nights after taking the money. They got the fewest laughs and the poorest closing hand of any team I ever saw on this stage. Ten years ago they would have been fourth-raters. Their rating now is beyond my power of computation. By actual count, sixteen people paid them the compliment of getting up and leaving the show during their act. BLANCHE EVERETT, Imitator of Popular Players:- 13 min. in 1. 3 shows. Gives various imitations of popular stage-people and does them fairly well. She will never get out of the supper section, as she has neither beauty nor personality to impress an audience. However, her close was very good, all things considered, and she is of value during the empty-house hours. GENERAL REMARKS:- This show is a peculiar one in having a surfeit of knock-about comedy, and is shy in skirts. In fact, there is scarcely a pretty woman on the bill, not even excepting Miss Beringer. By making some shifts, however, it will win out for the balance of the week without doubt. The houses are excellent considering the time of year. The following is the revised time-schedule: - Curtis & Adams...5.05 Blanche Everett...5.24 Buckeye State Four...5.36 Bean & Hamilton...5.50 Ardelle & Picks...7.40 Estelle Wordette...7.53 Murry K. Hill...8.13 Stinson & Merton...8.25 Royal Wedding Pictures...8.43 Cook & Madison...8.53 Dixon & Anger...9.09 Murray Carson & Co....9.25 Cook & Sylvia...9.50 Campbell & Johnson...10.03 Kinetograph...10.19 10.30
