2.- WELCH, MEALY & MONTROSE, "Play Ball":-17 min. in 1. 2 shows. Two work straight and one eccentric. Thoroughly good acrobatic work. Has a good deal of comedy and the fat man's nonsense got the gallery pretty strong. The base-ball finish was a little bit drawn out, but this being a base-ball town, it went fairly well. The finish was only fair, with one curtain call. MUSICAL AVOLOS, Xylophonists:- 10 min. in 2. 2 shows. These people are well known over the Circuit, and only a few months ago played this house. They make a very good presentation. Their work is the same as rendered here before. Received good applause. Altogether a good standard act. COOPER & ROBINSON, Colored Mirth-Makers:- 15 min. inl.-2 shows. Received some advanced applause. These people are favorites here for the very reason that they produce the goods. Have a lot of new material. Their songs are immense, and the dancing helps out the act very well. The coon travesty on the Hebrew was especially funny and received a tremendous hand. This act is rightly placed on the bill. HASSAN BEN ALI'S, Toozoonin Arabs:-10 min.F.S. 2 shows. The same skilful [skillful] and brilliant acrobatic act that has been here before and made such a hit. The little popele [people] in the act seem to be particularly appreciated, and got around after round of applause. As a closing feature, it could not be beat. KINETOGRAPH: N.A.C. GAMES AT TRAVERS ISLAND:-Very beautiful, instructive and popular series. THE PIGEON FAIRY:-Fanciful idea prettily carried out. THE HAND OF THE ARTIST:-Quite amusing and unique. VOYAGE AROUND A STAR:-One of the best made up series. Altogether the KINETOGRAPH series is quite up to the standard. JUGGLING BARRETTS-10 min.F.S. 3 shows.Three men, made up as Rubes, juggling hats, clubs, etc. Not a particularly strong juggling feature, but O.K. in this 3-a-day section for the supper show. Received some scattered applause and finished mild. JAS DUNN, Imitations:- 10 min. inl 3 shows. Imitations of familiar animals and musical instruments, etc. This is a fair act for the supper show and may develop into something much better. Fair presentation, and got some applause. GENERAL REMARKS:-This bill is quite up to the standard of a Summer show. It plays off very well as to time and sequence. Will pull together acceptably for the balance of the week. There were no cuts nor material changes in the bill, which is certainly light enough to satisfy any Summer audience.
