98 3.- GEORGE EVANS, Comedian:- 21 min. in 1. 2 shows. B ig advance applause. As predicted, this man's work was a scream from the start. He introduced no end of local witticisms which shows that he does not rely on hackneyed material, but uses his inventive faculties to produce big effects. Some times he would get a perfect whirlwind if laughter and applause, and the audience was loth to let him go. As it was, he received one curtain call after another, and once more justified his title of "America's King of Blackface Mirth." FOUR HARVEYS, wire specialty:-20 min. F.S. 2 shows. This is absolutely the best wire-act ever played here,- in my estimation. The two men and two women are wonderfully trained and perform some feats that have never been see here before. In artistic brilliancy their costumes are a delight, and they were beauties, (the women). Everyone of their feats got a rippling big hand, and there were no blunders. The finish, with the two girls doing a cake-walk on the wire, in a stunning change of costume, brought two curtain calls. Everything that has been predicted about this splendid feature has been realized and will certainly be talked about. KINETOGRAPH:-KATHLEEN MAVOURNEEN:-This is a rapid and brilliant Kinetograph feature, in fact, it is the best of the kind in the matter of sustained dramatic interest and shows to what development a Kinetograph feature may be brought by an expenditure of gray matter and money. This is one of the longest films ever shown here, and yet every minute there is something doing, and nothing which we would wish to eliminate. It would make well with any audience. GENERAL REMARKS:-This is in every way a top-notch show. There are no absolutely -- weak features, and many that are very strong. Ned Nye, and his girls fell short of expectations, but as the cleverest two of his dancing girls were missing (The Two Miss D'Arvilles) and the others needed rehearsing, (as well as the orchestra requiring some work with them) this gave the feature a strong handicap. Nye promises to get busy to-morrow morning with the act and it is hopes it will pull up to the level with the acts in that portion of the bill. Archer & Cracker...6:30 Murphy and Andrews...6:43 Texarkana & Walby...6:58 Zara and Stetson...7:10 Al. Burton...7:20 Prof. DuBoise & Ape...7:35 Mabel Sinclaire...7:50 Norton & Nicholson...8:05 Four Cartmells...8:25 May Belfort...8:45 Willis Family...9:02 Ned Nye & Girls...9:20 George Evans ... 9:42 Four Harveys...10:00 Kinetograph...10:15 10:30 (Under page).... took some little time for Nye and the girls to get a hold of their audience However, there were some very pretty numbers in the act and the girls make a good showing in the matter of personaly appearance. There were only four of the girls, the other two being shy. Miss D'Arville met with an accident. Her dancing would have brought up the feature considerably.will give a supplementery report on this act, as it is no satisfactory for a headline place, and if it can be pulled up to that standard,-- all well and good. The swing song and scene was the biggest hit and got quite an ovation. The finish was good, with two curtain call.
