105 New York Criticism---September 10th, 1906 THE LUCADOS: Novelty Heavyweight Balancers. Well known. Improved since last here, all of their work going very strong. Closed to big applause. Excellent three-show act. 11 min.-full stage WARD BROTHERS: Singers and Dancers. The singing does not amount to much. Their vocal abilities may develop later on. The dancing is their stronghold and carried them off fairly good and alright for an early place. 10 min. in one-3 shows ARCHER & CROCKER: 2 men. One working straight, the other eccentric. In the regulation acrobatic comedy. The comedy and of it just about got by. Acrobatic work is fairly good. Little too far down in the bill. Will move them up to open the show. 10 min.-full stage-3 shows BLANCHE SHARP: Singing comedienne. Young woman of pleasing personality. Makes several changes of costumes with a fairly good soprano voice. All of her selections received some little applause. Act is thoroughly alright for the early three-show section. --8 min. in one EMERSON & BOLIEU: 2 men. One working straight, the other blackface. Jugglers. Using rubber-balls, clubs with a little baton juggling. Comedy end of the act is good and received quite a number of laughs. Secured some applause for the club-juggling. Good three-show act. 10 min.-full stage. DALE & ROSSI: 2 men. German Comedians. Little too fast going in this place. Received some few giggles for their conversation and with a few parodies, allowed them to leave the stage with some little applause. Alright for an early place. 13 min. in one- 3 shows KINGSLEY & LEWIS: In their one-act comedy:-"After the Honeymoon." Another hen-pecked husband idea. Opened tame. Rather talky. Secured some few scattered laughs. The name really carried the act. Nothing sensational but pleases and will make good if not on too late in the bill. 19 min. full stage SCOTT & WILSON: Well known. Conversation with the partner in the Orchestra created more laughter than any other act on the bill up to this time. Acrobatic work got some little applause, but they closed rather tame. 9 min.-full stage HOUDINI: Second Week. Big advance applause. Presented the same act as last week. He was watched with great interest throughout with some applause after the hand-cuff work and trunk mystery. Closed with an exhibition of freeing himself from the straight-jacket, which went very strong. 34 min. KINETOGRAPH: "Grand Prize Meter Races" Good "Pals, or my Friend the Dummy" Excellent comedy
