(2) Geo. W.. Day. On at 2.47, 15 min in 1. Day did very well with the audiences of yesterday afternoon and evening. Was compelled to ask him to change the first part of his routine of talk, as we considered the Adam and Eve stuff quite suggestive in spots. The one way of curing the trouble seemed to be to cut it off. The stuff he put in went immense, and he is giving perfect satisfaction both to our patrons and ourselves with his present monologue. Fred Walton & Co. On at 3.02, 34 min. full stage. Special scenery. This act is a sensation in this house and this city. So strong is the hit that is made we have decided to retain it for a second week, and think we are fortunate that Walton had the week open. He is certainly the Monarch of Silent Comedy, and has an excellent vehicles in which to show his surpassing ability as a pantomimist. A great act for old and young alike. Kinetograph pictures of the Cambridge-Harvard race. On at 3.36, 9 min. A very good set of pictures of this sporting event. Of course they are strong locally, but think they would prove interesting for any of the houses. Mullen & Corelli. On at 3.43, 12 min, full stage. It would be difficult to name a better comedy-acrobatic act than this one. The straight man of the team is a wonderful tumbler, while the comedian is really humorous. They can hold down any spot in any bill. The Adelmanns. On at 3.57, 14 min in 1. I think it would help this act to set it in 2 when possible, but we were forced to play them in 1 here, to avoid a stage wait. They have got all other xylophone players tied to a post, and should be a very strong hit all over the Circuit. Cressy & Dayne: On at 4.11, 28 min, full stage. For their last week they are doing "Town Hall Tonight", and it is going bigger than ever. Some idea of its strength with the audience can be obtained from the fact that they went on at 9.55 last night, and held the entire audience until 10.25, something almost unheard of in this house. The Kinetograph. 4.39, 20 min. Is showing "Kathleen Navourneen", which appears to hold the attention of the audience throughout. The comedy film for the week, "A Tenant's Revenge", has no particular merit. The Zarells On at 4.59, 9 min, full stage. Two acrobats who give a highly meritorious exhibition, hand-balancing being their strong hold. This act is bound to be heard from, as they are capable of holding a much better position on the bill. 3-a-day acts of equal merit are few and far between. Would make an excellent opening act for the smaller houses, or could even hold a better place on the bill.
