(2) night performance. When they get the act in working shape, I fully believe it will be able to hold its own over the circuit. 31 min.-full stage- 2 shows DAVE NOWLIN: This man has greatly improved since last here. He has been away so long that some of his material, although old, seems new. He held his own here this afternoon, and finished to a big lot of applause. 18 min. in one- 2 shows 4 FORDS: Too well known to need any comment. Greatest dancing act in the varieties. Each one received individual applause. 15 min.-full stage- 2 shows ARTOIS BROTHERS: Comedy Gymnasts. Two men dressed as clowns in an horizontal bar act. The jury sanctioned this, this afternoon as the greatest comedy bar act we ever had. 11 min.-full stage- 2 shows KELLY & VIOLETTE: Well known. Having not played for so long, seemed like new faces. Act is nicely costumed. All of their selections were strongly applauded. 16 min. in one- 2 shows THOS. J. KEOUGH & CO: Man and woman. In a protean sketch-"The Way he won her" With the show twenty minutes late, this act was watched with great interest. Each of the six characters impersonated by Mr Keough received recognition. The girl is pretty, very graceful and pleases. This act is not bad. To those who never saw Courtney, one would not hesitate to pass the act as being thoroughly alright. At each of the performances to-day, they received two curtains calls. 24 min. AVERY & HART: First appearance here in years. This act was a laugh from start to finish. Show was very late when they came on, and they held the stage for twenty-two minutes, and I fully believe they could have held the stage for twenty-two minutes longer. It is the greatest coon act we ever had. HARNDIN'S ELECTRICAL BALLET: "Starlight" I presume this act would make a great spectacular number on a large stage. Stage being so small here, they were handicapped to a certain extent. It is the greatest act of an electrical nature we ever had. While they did not receive a big lot of applause, am quite sure it is going to create a lot of talk. 7 min.-full stage KINETOGRAPH: "Wanted a Nurse" Quite a good film. Contains a chasing scene, which is similar to the "Personal", altho it is thoroughly alright. "Ostrich Farm in Cal." Very interesting
