154. NEW YORK CRITICISM, NOV. 6th, 1906. CARL HERBERT---Magician. Young man of good appearance and personality. Tricks are easily and gracefully done; good finish. A really good three show act, and could not be beaten for an opener. In two, close in one, 15 minutes. WISE & MILTON--- Colored man and woman. Both have good voices, but comedy is very bad. They have a good Indian finish. Three shows full stage, 20 minutes. REEVES & KENNY---- Two men in neat refined songs, and dances that went very well. This is an exceptionally good three show act. 12 minutes in one. NAOMI ETHARTO--- Contortionist and Equilibrist. Good looking woman who wears tights. A picturesque and neat act. Very good for three shows, full stage, 10 minutes. HARRY BURGOYNE---English coster singing. Big hand for his singing of "Dear Old Dutch" which he deserved. His other songs were well sung, and he got big applause. Valuable three show act, and in case of need could be put further up on the bill. 15 minutes in one. THE GIRL BEHIND THE DRUM--- This act received its usual big hand. She is a very clever woman, and the act is well worth the money. Full stage, close in one. 10 minutes. MARZELLA & MILLAY--- Two men. Grotesque Bar Act. A very funny act, and the finish is a burlesque wrestling match which is a scream. Best act of its kind, I know of. 13 minutes, full stage. HAYES & JOHNSON--- Two very large, but handsome women. The first part of act is a good excuse for fine costumes, good jokes and singing. They both have very good voices, and the selections are suitable. They introduce motion pictures about themselves which seems to me did not add value to the act. Their make up as the Babies is good, and they do a neat song and dance in them that makes a hit. Their own portion of the act is a corker. Open full stage, pictures and close in one. 23 minutes. NOTE--- To say the show is a good one would be putting it mildly. All the three show acts are especially good, and the whole bill is a "Corker" and ought to do a tremendous business. Lindsay Morison.
