163 PITTSBURG, PA. GRAND OPERA HOUSE. Oct. 22d, 06. MCCREA & POOLE-Shooting act. 3 shows. 12 minutes. This is a very good shooting act. [HARRY? HAPPY?] JACK LISLE-Monologue. 3 shows. Time of act 15 minutes. Does very well in the three a day section. THE LABAKANS. -Grotesque acrobatic act, introducing a very clever dog. [10?] minutes Garden. This act does very well to open the show, the acrobatic work being fair, and the comedy introducing the dog very good. JEAN ARDELL and her Inky Dinks. 15 min, opening in one, then to two, closing in one. The Picks in this act are very clever, and Miss Ardell gets by. The act as a whole can be classed as fair. BARTHOLDI'S COCKATOOS- 15 minutes. Garden. This is one of the best bird acts we have ever played. TAYLOR HOLMES. Monologue and imitations. Time of act 15 minutes. Not nearly as good as during his first engagement. With his present material I would only consider him a fair act. MANSFIELD & WILBUR-23 minutes. Interior. "61 Prospect Street". We haven't played this act in three years and it is doing very well with us. I consider it a fair act. ECKERT & BERG-Operatic singing and imitations on piano. 19 minutes- opening full stage, special set This is their first appearance at this house and they are going very well. I consider it a good act. MELVIN BROS.-Gymnasts. 10 minutes. Garden. This act is similar to that of the Bard Bros. I think their work equally as good. NED WAYBURN'S FUTURITY WINNER. 22 min. This act was a disappointment. There seems to be no one in charge of the act. The heavy man in the sketch, Wm. Bert Downing, I think is one of the worst actors I ever saw. I cannot imagine why a man with Wayburn's experience would allow a bad actor to ruin his sketch. CHARLEY CASE-Monologue. 18 minutes. Olio in one. Went better with us during this engagement than ever before. John P. Harris. Pittsburg Grand Opera House. Cuts week Oct 22. JACK LISLE-: "Let me see your garter"; "Miss Cascaret"; "One year after there were three little nickels"; "Good bye Blue Belle, tell Dolly Grey I'll see her in h-". FUTURITY WINNER-: "Aint it hell" and "I'll be damned". MANSFIELD & WILBUR-: Where lady enters the man's room and then exits screaming. Business of hiding head. JEAN ARDELLE-: Business where colored girl throws up the back of her skirt suggestively. LABAKANS-: Business of kicking on seat of trousers.
