#2.-Phila. BARROWS-LANCASTER CO."Thanksgiving Day":- 26 min. F. S.2 shows. On at 8:18. A very good Holiday sketch. It is sprightly and contains the right balance of humor and pathos, though pitched on too high a key and there is too much ranting at times, in strong contrast to CRESSY'S quiet humor. It held the interest of the audience from start, and there were frequent laughs and applause. Closed well, with two curtain calls. JACK WILSON & COMPANY. "An Upheaval in Darktown":- 22 min. in 1 .2 shows. On at 8:44. Three people, one man working eccentric. This is a good act for a mixed Holiday crowd, as there is abundant comedy, but the fun is at times a little bit coarse. The singing is good, and the material is for the most part new. The laughs were constant throughout and close was very strong, with two curtain calls. POLLY PICKLE'S PETS IN PETLAND:- 24 min. F. S. 2 shows. On at 9:06. As a Holiday feature this act will challenge any children's act in Vaudeville. It contains some of the most novel and grotesque stage-effects ever planned. The scene itself is romantic and the music and songs are fully in keeping with the spirit of the play. Of course, the principal interest is centered about the work of the pets,- dog, cat, parrot and the rest. The action is swift, and ever minute offers a new idea and another laugh. As a children's feature it will probably be as strong a drawing-card as BUSTER GABRIEL, which is saying a good deal. The work of Abrahams is the cat, and Alfred Latel as the dog was particularly happy and rich in humorous surprises. Applause and laughing were constant throughout the entire act, and the close was immense, showing that the act was fully appreciated by young and old. The town will certainly be talking about this feature and it will draw strong with all classes. LEW SULLY,Monologue:- 15 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 9:30. Advance applause. Well known on the Circuit. Lively lot of stuff, well delivered. Sully has them from the first and the audience rewarded his work by demanding two recalls. Held this difficult spot with greatest ease. HOUDINI,Handcuff King:- 25 min. F. S. 2 shows. On at 9:45. Big advance hand. Performed same regulation feats in handcuff work that he has done previously, and received big applause. Last week he broke out of a packing-box, and this week he will vary his act in stunts with paper bag, boxes, straight-jackets, etc. He certainly is an immense drawing-card. KINETOGRAPH: STEALING TOMATOES:- Fair French comedy film. CHILDREN'S PETS:- Rather pretty and interesting for the children. NIGHT BEFORE XMAS:-One of the best ever for Xmas week.
