226. Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Province R. I. , Week of January 14, 1907. (Chas. Lovenburg, Mrg.) The bill is an excellent one and with a couple of exceptions, made good [[strikethrough]]th[[/strikethrough]] from start to finish. Marlow, Plunkett & Co. In their usual Shakespeariean sketch which went as well as ever. 19 min. full stage, 3 shows. Princeton Sisters. This act is not a good one and by no means fills the place of the Althea Twins, whom they replaced in this bill. 10 min. in 2, 3 shows. Wise & Wilton. Man and woman, colored, singing and comedy. The man has a good based voice and the woman is also fairly good, altho they are a little light- wasted on the comedy. They do some things quite well however, notably a base song and the Indian songs and dance at the finish, closing to good applause. 22 min. open in 2, close in 1, 3 shows. Rhodes & Carter. Acrobatic comedy act. Very good 3-a-day turn. 14 min. full stage, 3 shows. Connors & Raymond. Man and woman, singing and dancing. The lady has a very pleasing personality and does a good eccentric dance; the man is a very clever wooden shoe dancer. The act made something of a hit this afternoon. 11 min. in 1, 3 shows. Fredo & Dare. Black and white face, comedy musical act. This is one of those old-fashioned affairs with a lot of ante-deluvian jokes and fair instrumental performances. The act is not a bad one and got by fairly well this afternoon, but it really belongs in the 3-a-day class. 17 min. open in 3, close in 1, 2 shows. Katie Barry. Considering Miss Barry's salary, it is the "frost" of the bill. She has promised to make some changes for tonight. 12 min. in 1, 2 shows. VOLTA. This act has been described before; sufficient to say that he made good thoroughly and no doubt will draw a lot of money. 24 min. full stage, with a short close in 1, if necessary, 2 shows. Carson & Willard. Usual Dutch comedy act; they have quite a little new material and were well accepted this afternoon. 15 min. in 1, 2 shows. Eleanor Dorel. This lady has a very pleasing soprano voice, which she knows how to use; sings some dainty little songs and wears some beautiful gowns,- likewise she is an attractive little woman. She pleased the down-stairs decidedly this afternoon and there were no objections from the upstairs portion of the house; it is one of those little acts that lends an air of refinement to a bill and decidedly worth playing. 10 min. in 1, 2 shows. Clayton White and Marie Stuart & Co. In their well-known sketch "Paris" which was as big a hit today as ever 32 in. full stage, 2 shows. Winsor McCay. Cartoonist. In an awfully hard spot - with the show very late - Mr. McCay made good thoroughly. 20 min. in 1, 2 shows. The Baggessens. Crockery smashers. Got many laughs; with the show running a little earlier they would probably have scored a hit. 14 min. full stage, 2 shows. ^[[Motion Pictures - O. K.]] Eleanor Dorel, name spelled "DOREL", -- the lady is a soprano, not a contralto. Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.
