CLEVELAND SHOW WEEK FEB. 4, I907. ( F. Brandt) LA VINE CIMARON TRIO Two men and one woman. One man doing black face and the other two working straight. This was an unusually good acrobatic act to open the show with. Has some very good comedy all the way through, keeping the audience in continuous laughter. The woman does some very good contortion work. Full Stage. Special Set. I3 Minutes. McMAHON AND CHAPPELLE: "Ten Minutes Before Train Tme". Talking and singing. This play had some unusually new and good stuff, and the act went very well. Received very good applause at close, compelling Mr. McMahon to make a comedy curtain speech. I0 Minutes in one. VERNON: Ventriloquist. This act went very well this afternoon. Hearty applause all through. Should make good anywhere. C. D. F. I3 Minutes. SHEAN AND WARREN: "Quo Vadis Upside Down". This act has been here so often that I was surprised to see it go as well as it did. They received quite a number of laughs, but closed very weak at finish, receiving hardly any applause. Act to well known on circuit for any special comment. Open in 2. Special drop. Full stage. Special set I8 minutes. OLIVOTTI TROUBADOURS: High class Instrumentalists. The man playing violin and guitar. Up to this time this was the hit of the show. Playing selections with variations from different Operas and closing with Caviliera Rusticana, which made a tremendous hit. They had to play an encore, and the audience still wanted more. A very good act and should make good anywhere. I3 Minutes in one. Drapery. McMAHON'S WATERMELON GIRLS: Open in two. Conservatory drop. Doing a minstrel first part. There are nine of these girls, and they both sing and dance very well/ In the second part the girls all make a change to the Watermelon Girls with a special drop. Very good act. Went very well. BEN WELCH: " The Hebrew And the Dago". Very well known on circuit, and all I can say, is that he was the hit of the show, and the audience seemed as if they could not get enough of him. He is a scream from start to finish in his jewish character, and also scored very heavily in his " Dago Songs." I9 Minutes in one. 0 JAMES & ELSIE FINNEY: The act is about the same as when seen here before. Is also well known on circuit. They do a lot of fancy stunts under water. Floating and revolving, turning somersaults, eating and drinking under wter. Mr Finney closes by picking up 60 coins with his mouth from the bottom of the tank, and also goes to sleep under water for two minutes. Received quite a bit of applause at finish. I2 Minutes. Wood in 5.
