FEBRUARY 25, 1907. PHILADELPHIA SHOW. C.W. BARNS. JOHN & BERTHA RICH. Songs and Dances:- 12 min. in 1. 3 shows. On at 6:34. Man and woman. This is only a fair three-a-day act. Expected more. The dancing is good, but line of talk weak, and the only thing that got a real laugh was the Henry & Francis act of thrusting the man's arms under the woman's own, and doing the grotesque gesticulations, while she sings. Close was only fair. THE TRILLERS, Rag-Picture artists:- 14 min. F.S. 3 shows. On at 6:46. Two men. This is a very good three-a-day act. The rag picture-making holds the audience very well, and each one received a good hand. The comedy just a out fills time. Closed very fair for this sort of an act. CARR & REYNOLDS, Comedians:- 14 min. in 1. 3 shows. On at 7:00. Two men. This is a brand new act that has possibilities. Both work straight and have a pretty good line of talk and parodies. They are worth while encouraging. Closed well, with a curtain call. VALVENO BROTHERS, Equil. & Gymn:-10 min. F.S. 3 shows. On at 7:14. This act is unquestionably one of the best three-a-day athletic acts in the business. The work of these two powerful men holds the interest throughout, and the applause for their unique and skilful tricks is strong and appreciative. Some of their feats have never been done here before, and there is a novety about it that puts it beyond the primary strong-man acts. Close A.1., with a curtain call. FRANZ EBERT & COMPANY, "Dan Cupid":- 23 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 7:30. This act is well known, and went very well. The scene is a dressing-room of a theatre, with two dancing girls. Ebert is a natural comedian, and the laughs were constant throughout, for the act is full of situations and bright lines. Ebert as Dan Cupid got the gallery strong, and his impersonation of a drunk was ludicrous enough to rob it of any offensiveness. Closed strong with one curtain call. BLACK & JONES, Colored Comedians:- 12 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 7:53. Two men. This is a good coon act. Their work is rapid and noisy. The dances are particularly strong, that of Black especially, who wriggles tunefully from one end of the stage to the other, with wonderful agility, and introduces a good deal of humor in the work. There was frequent applause, and the close justified this place on the bill. LIND, The Mysterious:- 10 min. F.S. 2 shows. On at 8:03. This man is certainly immense. His costuming and stage-settings are magnificent, and his dancing simply great. As a female impersonator he is certainly the best we have ever had. We billed him as a mystery. The audience was thoroughly fooled up to the very time that he seized his wig and disclosed himself a man. Then there was a roar all over the house. Five curtain calls followed. throughout the night, he managed to go through much more trouble on that score this week. The show, as a whole, is highly praised by both the public and the press, and Keith patrons are certainly "on" to the fact that we are giving them the goods, and are rewarding us with practically capacity business. There were no distinct fall-downs in our program this week, whereas there were several pleasant surprises.
