30. Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of February 25, 1907. (Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.) The show in its entirety, while not great is a good one. A couple of the smaller acts didn't pan out quite to my satisfaction, and as many of the 3-a-day turns disappoint a little also. Ye Colonial Reeds. Musical act man and woman dressed in colonial costumes, playing upon cornets and altos made in various shapes. As the tones of all are very much alike, the act gets very monotonous in spite of its shortness. 11 min. in 1, 3 shows. Bob & Bertha Hyde. Rube sketch which is as much of a "travesty" in a way as it is a "rube"; woman playing an actress. It has not a great deal to recommend it, but gets by in the early 3-a-day section. 15 min. full stage, can close in 1, 3 shows. Frazer Trio. Well-known dancing act which is always acceptable Could stand a little better place on the bill. 14 min. open and close in 1, 3 shows. Meeh International Trio. Strong man, hand balancing and sings. A very good act indeed; worthy of a place in the 2-a-day portion of the bill. 10 min. full stage, 3 shows Howard & Rutherford. Two men, one "straight", one "Dutch". Went quite well for a 3-a-day turn and would be all right in the smaller 2-a-day houses. 18 min.in 1, 3 shows. Latina. Contortionist, well-known. Act which is always good altho I think, on account of her increased weight, the act is not quite up to what it used to be. 11 min. in 2, can work in 1, 3 shows. Conn & Conrad. Comedy aerial bar act. These men got a great many laughs, just why, I can't tell. For an early 2-a day spot, may be rated as good, altho probably a little bit overpaid. 11 min. full stage. On a pinch, they could close in one, where the apron is large. 2 shows. Mitchell & Cain. These people didn't do as well as they have on previous occasions and really I don't see why they are out of the 3-a-day section. Their act is not as good today as it was when they were doing 3 shows. 16 min. in 1, 2 shows. Kelly & Kent. Or "Kelly & O'Brien", according to how you happen to bill them. One of the good old vaudeville singing and dancing sketches of which we have too few. The present Miss Kent is an improvement over her predecessors, her tough work being especially good; in fact, I know of no one better in her line. The act is an unqualified hit this afternoon. 20 min. open in 3, close in 1, 2 shows. Emil Hoch & Co. Dramatic comedy sketch called, "Love's Young Dream." A splendid vehicle, excellently played. An acquisition to any bill. 18 min. full stage, 2 shows. Mayme Remington & Picks. I don't believe Miss Remington's act is up to what we have had from her before. I don't see why she should get as much money as she does, in view of the salaries of Leona Thurber and Jeanne Andell, both acts of which I consider better. 10 min. in 1, 2 shows.
