60. TEMPLE THEATER, DETROIT, MICH., MARCH 18. Comment- The bill as a whole is much inferior to that of the past few weeks. No act stands out prominently as a drawing card on the merits. J. H. Finn DORA MARTINI, the trapeze woman, is fully up to the standard of these acts, and proved to be an excellent opening number. 11 min. FS. ARLINGTON COMEDY FOUR is a disappointment both as to comedy and as to singing, and they got but slight recognition. 16 min. in one. LILLLIAN APEL was substitute for Wills Holt Wakefield who was taken ill on her way here. Miss Apel gave a "pianologue" similar to that of Augusta Close, and while the act is not of a high order of merit it appeared to please our audience very much. 1o min. with plush. BROWN, HARRIS & BROWN, two men and a woman, have an old-time variety act of singing and comedy that brought the audience out of its trance, and that proved to be the applause hit of the bill. Brown is quite funny in a rough way. 27 min. FS. Can close in one. ETHEL LEVEY was a disappointment so far as getting applause is concerned. She has a rather poor selection of songs, and her voice was hoarse. The press however treated her fine, and on account of her present newspaper publicity she may prove a box-office attraction. 9 in one. FRANK EBERT and company gave us "Dan Cupid," which he presented here on a former occasion. This is a mildly humorous offiering, and should prove interesting to the women and children. 23 min. FS. FRANK BUSH again made good with our audiences. He brought some new stories and told the old ones with his accustomed gusto. In the comedy line he ran a close second to Brown, Harris and Brown. 15 in one. ELEVEN METZETTIS, eight men, two women and a boy, proved to be the acrobatic sensation of the season. The boy, dressed as a girl, is the star feature of the act. Not one person in ten thousand in the audience would suspect him of being a boy, and the tripleand double somersaults he performs are really wonderful. 7 min. FS. KINETOGRAPH pictures of the sea by moonlight are very beautiful, and proved to be a fine climax to a rather ordinary bill.
