70 125TH STREET THEATER CRITICISM S. F. ROGERS April --1st-1907 -o-ooo-o- COMMENT: The house was very big. The audience were more enthusiastic than on former occasions, therefore, everything went with a howl. The show is excellent, containing quite a number of novelties and several new faces. Presume it will be a winner on the week. THE FRANCELIAS: Belgian Hercules. It is a pity to open the show with this act. Strong enough for a feature in the small houses. Most all his work is clear-cut and they appreciated every stunt. Big applause on the finish. 10 min.-full stage. MILT WOOD: Presume this fellow is well known here, so he received some little entrance applause. He was recognized instantly for his excellent work, securing scattered applause throughout. Compelled to take several bows on the finish. 10 min. FOX & CLARK: In the spectacular novelty:-"Under the Sea." This act remains about the same. Dialogue should be brushed up a little, as they do not secure the laughs as on former occasions. Pleased, however, as they received several curtain calls. 16 min. GRACE HAZARD: Presenting:-"Five Feet of Comic Opera." This young woman made a pronounced hit. Has a pleasing personality and an excellent voice. Makes seven distinct changes without leaving the stage. Quite a novelty. Compelled to take several bows. 16 min. in one. 4 NELSON COMIQUES: Acrobatic Comedians. This act deserves a medal for being the roughest slap-stick acrobatic act on the stage. Rather disappointed. Will try and tone them down. Would not care to play them again. 11 min. KINETOGRAPH: "Cosmopolitan Dances" Good "The Mother-in-Law's Visit" Good comedy
