72 Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of April 1, 1907. (Chas. Lovenberg, Mgr.) The show in its entirety is very satisfactory altho there was considerable disappointment in the head-line feature. Chefalo & Capretta. Italian sleight-of-hand performer. Very nice little act for the 3-a-day section. No fault to find with it at all, it is nicely dressed and they do some good sleight-of-hand work. 16 min. open full stage, close in one, 3 shows. Henry & Young. Comedy sketch. Just about good enought to get away in the early 3-a-day section. 15 min. open in 3, close in 1, 3 shows. Rice Brothers. Comedy bar act. Pleased thoroughly. 10 in. full stage, 3 shows. Ward Bros. Dancers. One of the best acts of the kind we have had in a long time. Made a decided hit' 10 min. in 1, 3 shows. Three Roses. Three young women playing Violins, 'Cello, Piano and a little singing. Very pretty act altho not great,-all right in the early 2-a-day section. 15 min. open in 3, can close in 1, 3 shows. Wm. Tompkins. Monologuist. Fellow with a very good personality, neat appearance and uses good English. Has some bright timely stuff and works local affairs in good style. A good act. 15 min. in 1, 2 shows. Minnie Kaufmann. Well-known bicyclist. One of the prettiest acts of the kind, for a single act, we have ever had. 9 min. full stage, 2 shows. Mary Norman. Society types. Well-known act, which while it pleases and gives satisfaction to the audience as well as to me, I think gets too much money for the result gained. 17 min. in 3, 2 shows. Ned Wayburn's "Side Show." I felt obligated to move this act up to this point, from a little harder spot. The act has the greatest of possibilities which have not been developed, by any means and the people presenting it are decidedly incompetent. Why they select a man like Pilcer and feature him for an act like this kind is beyond my understanding. The only thing that saved the act was the blowing up of the girls to fat women, at the finish. That was a scream and made the act finish with a "hoorah." The rest of it was pretty dead. 26 min. full stage, 3 shows. Howard & North. In their well-known act "Those Were The Happy Days" which went surprisingly well, this being their third time here in as many seasons. 20 min. in 1, 2 shows. Chinko. Juggler. Very good little act, in fact may be classed among the good jugglers that we play. 11 min. full stage, 2 shows. Leona Thurber & Picks. In some respects I like this the best of any Pickanninie acts we play. Miss Thurber makes a very nice appearance and the pickanninies do some very good singing and dancing. Bright lively act, and held down this spot satisfactorily. 12 min. in 1, 2 shows. Macarte's Monkeys. One of the best, if not the best monkey act for life, ginger and novelty we have ever played. 16 min. full stage, 2 shows. the chap dances very well. Lots of life and ginger to the act which is all right in the 3-a-day section. 10 min. in 1, 3 shows.
