#2.-Phila. DOHERTY SISTERS, Voc. & Danc:- 15 min. in all 2 shows. On at 8:57. Two pretty girls in becoming costumes who sing and dance very well. Their comedy is a little shy and the act would be much improved if they got some brighter lines and did not depend upon antiques and imitations to win laughter. They have undoubted talent and need to have new line of talk. Closed with two curtain calls. A. G. DUNCAN, Ventriloquist:- 21 min. in 2. 2 shows. On at 9:10. Well known act. Good advance applause. Got the crowd as strong as ever right from the start. Very pleasing act for all parts of the house, introducing up-to-date local stuff that is characteristic of him and his work. Closed immense. (Closed in 1.) COLLINS & HART, Acro. & Com:- 17 min. F.S. open in 1. 2 shows. On at 9:31. This is a burlesque acrobatic act by people who have evidently seen Blocksom and Burks, but who go them a thousand per cent better at their own style of fun. Both men work in tramp costume, changing to burlesque acrobats. There was constant laughter throughout, and the invisible wire-work brought a perfect storm at the finish. Just the sort of an act for a Holiday crowd. Closed uproarous. GRACE VAN STUDDIFORD, Vocaliste:- 10 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 9:48. Owing to the sudden illness of Marie Dressler and the cancellation of her engagement for this, her first week, Grace Van Studdiford was called upon to fill the place. This she did brilliantly and to everybody's satisfaction. Her voice is richer and sweeter than ever, and every one of her three songs got immense applause. With such an excellent substitution as Miss Van Studdiford, we consider ourselves very fortunate. Two curtain calls. THERESE BENZ, Equestrienne:- 14 min. F.S. On at 9:58. Second week. Same unqualified hit with the Holiday crowd. Will continue to be talked about and draw money to the house. KINETOGRAPH:- DANIEL BOONE:- Very good melodramatic seris, clear and interesting. MASTER'S TEA SERVICE:- An amusing running picture of a comedy French type. GENERAL REMARKS:-This is a rather difficult show to play, but once the sequence was properly arranged, it worked out very well indeed. The three-a-day section is unusually strong.- in fact there was nothing weak on the bill, and the way that Miss Van Studdiford substituted for Miss Dressler thoroughly pleased our audiences and ourselves. Yesterday's business was record-breaking for an Easter Monday, and everything promises a big week. CUTS & OBJECTIONS:- RENO & SMITH:- Throwing of dummy into audience and drawing it back again. COLLINS & HART:-Throwing of dum-bell into audience and drawing it back again. -1-
