(2) Harry Tighe & his Collegians. On at 3.31, 25 min, full stage. Second week. Repeated the strong impression that they made last week, and will undoubtedly continue to be a drawing card. The Brittons. On at 3.56, 12 min, in 1. Did not seem to work with the same snap and dash that formerly characterized their specialty. Possibly because nothing up to this time recovered from the original dash of cold water. I think that they will do better through the week, and will make as good as of yore. Pekin Zouaves. On at 4.08, 9 min, full stage. A great zouave act that made the audience sit up and take notice. I trust I may be forgiven for stating that I have yet to see an act of this style that has had anything on the original Streator Zouaves. Geo. B. Reno & Co. On at 4.17, 13 min, opening in 3, then going to 4. One of the best bunches of nonsense I have ever seen put together. I got them for the purpose of following the Pekins on account of their burlesque drill and wall-scaling, and they certainly served the purpose. It doubles the value of the act to be able to use it in this manner. This afternoon's audience laughed until they cried. Kinetograph. On at 4.30, 24 min. "Spot at the Telephone", an interesting film. "Bob-sleigh Running" and "Ski Racing", two great series, among the best we have had this season. "A Good Cigar", an excellent comic. Milton's Dogs. On at 4.54, 13 min. Murphy, Whitman & Co. On at 5.07, 19 min, full stage; 3 shows. Was not particularly impressed with this act, but it may have been due to its position on the bill. My present opinion is that it is a question whether it would make good in the 2-a-day houses in the number two spot. I will see it again this week and make another report, if it is deserving. Cuts:- Whalen & West. Cut "corn-doctor" squib; story relating to "Wife on boarder's knee". Comment. Although this afternoon's show was a disappointment to me, still I have not lost faith in its ability to make good and provide a pleasing entertainment. I think that with Bernar's Mannikins in their proper place, a new aspect will be put on the whole affair.
