CLEVELAND SHOW WEEK APRIL 15th, 1907. (F. Brandt) GARTELLE BROS: "Skatorialism". 2 men; onw working straight and the other blackface. Their talk at opening amounts to nothing and is very tiresome, nevertheless from the time they start their skating, the act goes very good, and is a A1. opening act. 7 minutes interior. Close in one dancing on roller skates, which is really the best part of the act. Good applause at finish. FRANZ EBERT & CO: In Edmund Day's latest success, "Dan Cupid". This sketch really amounts to very little, more than to introduce Mr Franz Ebert, who is very clever. As long as he is on the stage the act goes good, and creates quite a number of laughs. Interior 24 minutes. ITALIAN TRIO: Vocalists. 3 men. We have played this act several times, but don't remember of it ever going as well as it did to-day. Received hearty applause for all of their songs. 14 minutes in one. Drape. SUNNY SOUTH" 5 colored men and woman. This act without a doubt was the hit of the show. They certainly have improved since the last time they were here, and I don't know of any act of this kind, that we have ever played, that went as good as this one did to-day. Full stage Special set. 14 minutes. Received 6 curtain calls at close. PETER DONALD & META CARSON: In "Alex. McLean's Dream". I was a little afraid that this act would have an awful fall, following both the Italian Trio and "The Sunny South", which consisted mostly of singing. Was very much pleased to find this an unusually good act, and certainly should make good on any bill. This act received very hearty applause all the way through. Mr Donald has an unusually good voice. 14 minutes in two. Special drop in two. Close in one 4 minutes. Wm. H. THOMPSON & CO: In a one-act playlet, by Clay M. Greene, "For Love's Sweet Sake". Without a doubt this is one of the cleverest little sketches that has ever been presented in vaudeville, including the performers. Mr Thompson is certainly an artist, and was ably assisted by Mr Thomas H. Ince. Although this little sketch brings many tears, I cannot see why it should not make good anywhere. 24 minutes Interior. BOBBY NORTH: Hebrew Comedian. 19 minutes in one, with absolutely an entire new lot of patter and parody songs. A very good act. ZENO, JORDAN & ZENO: Thrilling Aerial Exhibition. Two men and one woman. One working straight and one comedy. This is one of the best casting acts in the business, and held the audience until close. Received very liberal applause all through their work. 10 minutes full stage.
