Report on show, Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of April 15, 1907. (Charles Lovenberg, Mgr.) The big end of the show this week gives very good satisfaction. Among the three-a-days the only act that really makes good is Paul Stephens La Belle. Comedy juggler. Well-known over the circuit, all right to open the show. 12 min. full stage, can close in 1, 3 shows. Will Dockray. Blackface monologuist. Mr. Dockray has a good personality and very poor material, that is to say the material was good at one time, a great many years ago, but it has outlived its usefulness. As the act stands it is of no value at all. 12 min. in 1, 3 shows. Leonard & Drake. Another act that didn't reach excepting for about three minutes of imitations introduced in a song, the rest of their work is extremely bad. 12 min. either in 3, or in 1, 3 shows. Paul Stephens. One legged equilibrist. Exceedingly good act plenty good enough to open the show in the 2-a-day houses. Exceptionally good from a 3-a-day standpoint. An act that it seems to me should be covered for next season. 10 min. full stage, 3 shows. Wallace Sisters. Another disappointing feature. Couple of pretty girls who dance only passably and who do not sing well at all. Act would be all right second in the continuous houses at about $60.00 or $75.00 at the very most. At $100 it is a gold brick. 10 min. in 1, 3 shows. Four Everetts. European equilibrists. This act made good thoroughly. It consists of two men, two women in acrobatics, equilibristic work, contortions and a little of everything. It is a good lively act and for the money is thoroughly all right. 11 min. full stage, 3 shows. McMahon's Watermelon Girls. Well-known act scored in good style. 20 min. full stage, 2 shows. Ford & Swor. Two men, talking and singing, comedy, which can be classed only as fair. They too, in my estimation, are overpaid about $50.00. If it were not for the novelty of the tramp going out from the stage and through the orchestra floor singing "I've Said My Last Farewell, Good-bye" the act would fall pretty flat. 16 min. in 1, 2 shows. Mr. & Mrs. Truesdell & Co. In sketch "Two Men and A Bottle", well played, well liked. [31?] min. full stage, 2 shows. McMahon & Chappelle. These people always go well here, They have an unctuous manner about them and they always have a lot of good, new stuff, and such old stuff as they use, they have revamped to make it appear new. 17 min. in 1, 2 shows. Gallagher & Barrett. In what they call a sketch "The Battle of Too Soon". It is really a talking act in full stage. It is a corker though and had the audience screaming from start to finish. Worth repeating next year. 19 min. in 3, 2 shows. Edith Helens. I might term this lady a freak vocalist. From a musical standpoint her voice would not bear much analysis. From a vaudeville standpoint, it is a great act and she scored the biggest kind of a hit. Her imitations of the violin is the best thing of the kind I ever heard. 12 min. in 1, 2 shows. Their playing of patriotic airs aroused the audience to a high pitch of enthusiasm and everyone going out said it was immense. A splendid closing feature. [85?] min. full stage, 2 shows. Motion Pictures. O. K.
