UNION SQUARE CRITICISM WEEK OF MAY 20th, 1907. FRANK BOWMAN. Magician. I can highly recommend this young man. He is way ahead of the three show magician. Good refined comedy, and keeps the audience in constant good humor. 15 minutes in two. (Can work in one) BELLE EARLE. Young woman rather good looking, not too well dressed with good voice in three songs. Fair applause. Good three show act for the money. 8 minutes in one. LEVILLE AND SINCLAIR. Young woman assisted by young man in singing and dancing act. First part of act consists of Girl being drawn in a Jinricksha by man. Both in pretty Jap Costumes, and their song and dance got a big hand. Quick change of both to modern dress. This number went only fair. Last change to pretty yellow costumes, and song and dance. This was a big hit. The act is a "find", and ought to be looked after. 11 minutes, full stage, close in one. Three shows. VIOLA DUVAL AND KNICKERBOCKER GIRLS. Five good looking girls. When this act gets more team work it will be a good girl act. A novel feature of the girls leaving five Teddy bears on the stage, and the Bears doing a doll dance. Miss Duval has a good voice, and the finish of the act-the five girls in U. S. Khaki dresses, and singing "Honey Boy" got big applause. Three shows, 12 minutes, full stage. Close in one. MLLE. VICTORIA'S DOGS. A very good act for the money, and the woman is a thorough "showman." The leaping greyhounds are especially good, and the finish got good applause. 10 minutes, full stage. REIFF BROS. Well known act that went just as well as ever. These boys certainly have "the goods", and their act stands alone in its class. Big hit. 13 minutes in one. TOM HEARN. Scream from start to finish. Great act that had the women almost in hysterics. 13 minutes, full stage. GEO. B. RENO & CO. Four men and a woman in one of the silliest acts I have seen in a long while. Small laughter in spots, but the act is not worth the money. It might be all right to follow a Zouave act. 17 minutes, full stage. KINETOGRAPH. Picturesque Japan. Interesting film. Stolen Pig. Very funny. NOTE. Had to put Bowman down between Hearn and Bernar's Mannikins to-night on account of wait. He fills spot O. K. Splendid show from start to finish, with exception of Geo. Reno. Lindsay Morison.
