UNION SQUARE CRITICISM WEEK OF MAY 27th, 1907. THE MOTOR GIRLS. These girls do a very neat little act. Three girls making three changes of costume. The only bad feature being their singing. Would not exactly call it bad, but their voices are only fair and they are very clever dancers. It is a very nice little three a day act. 10 minutes in one. ELSIE BALLARD. German Comedienne. This girl is very clever. Sings three songs making three changes of costume, and her singing is fair, and a very fair dancer. Consider it a very nice act about second on the bill. 8 minutes, in two. MORTON AND DIAMOND. Comedy Irish sketch. I consider this a very good act. They are both very hard workers, especially Mr. Morton who is a very clever dancer. Consider this a very valuable three a day act. 16 minutes, full stage. SLATER AND WILLIAMS. Colored Comedians. These two fellows do a fair act. Both have good voices, and good dancers. Made quite a hit this afternoon. 13 minutes in one. FRANCO PIPER. Banjoist. Second time this season, and made just as big a hit as ever. He stands distinctly alone, and the applause he got was deafening. Great act. 15 minutes, full stage. Short close in one. NORTON AND NICHOLSON. In "Ella's All Right." Very funny act, and got big laughter, but using a nightgown for an apron, a bed sheet for a table cover and a tooth brush to cook eggs is rather doubtful Comedy for a Keith House. One of their gags was asking what went with a chafing Dish- Answer "Talcum Powder" which I immediately cut--I was told it passed all the other Keith Houses. However it stays out here. Act got three curtains. 22 minutes, full stage. CHAS. AND FANNY VAN. Singing and talking. Last time they played three shows at this house. Hardly strong enough for this spot. Changed them with Franco Piper. Fair applause. 15 minutes in one. KINETOGRAPH. A Visit to the Dentist. Funny. Salmon Fishing in Scotland. Very interesting. Buying a Ladder. Good comedy film. NOTE. Very good show, and weather permitting expect a big week's business. Lindsay Morison.
