BEN ALI'S ARABS. Great Bedouin Arab Troupe. 12 min. On at 10.08. F. S. Well known on the circuit. A whirlwind act, and no mistake. One of the most sensational and thoroughly all-right acts in Vaudeville. They had the audience going from start to finish. The latter was a perfect "scream." KINETOGRAPH 10.20. #1. Very interesting lot of animal pictures, of the Bostock and Wormwells' Traveling Menagerie., in England. #2. Runaway Motor Car. Very amusing. Altogether, a very satisfactory Kinetograph feature. TILLY WHITNEY. 3 shows, in 1. Very large woman with a very small voice. Just about gets by, on her versatility, for she plays rag-time well. Sings one or two songs to her own accompaniment, after the manner of Willa Holt Wakefield, whom she imitates in voice and intonation. Went off to a fairly good hand, after imitating the aluminum chimes. THE LA BELLES. 13 min. F. S. Hoop Rollers and Jugglers. Man and woman. This is a very ordinary act. The man works eccentric and is assisted by a pretty young girl, dressed becomingly. The man does the regulation stunts with the hoops, balls and cigar boxes. Introduces some mild comedy. Dragged at first, but worked up to a fair finish. Cut: Cut out the "corset" business in the La Belles act. STELLA MAYHEW. 13 min. On at 9.30. Another big advance hand. There is no discounting the fact that Miss Mayhew is a decidedly big hit as a character singer. She compares very favorably with May Irwin, and, or the two, I prefer Miss Mayhew. Each one of her songs was a gem, and sung in a style that is individual and magnetic. Sang three songs and went off to a perfect whirlwind of applause. She will certainly draw well for the balance of the week. GRIGOLETTIS FLYING BALLET. 11 min. On at 9.43. This is one of the prettiest sight-acts that was ever invented. The women are not required to be very expert dancers, but they are very graceful and most stunningly costumed, and have most unaccountable nerve, to take the flights into flies and wings as they do. Each one is suspended by an invisible wire. They sweep from one side of the stage to the other and from the floor to the flies, in a manner that holds the audience's breath. The finish of the act, when the doves are let loose in a flight from the gallery, alighting on the persons of the dancers, is one of the most stunning pictures every seen. This act is a genuine hit and sure to be talked about. "THAT QUARTETTE." 14 min. On at 9.54. Big advance applause. The last time this combination was here, they made an unqualified score, and, naturally, the people were glad to welcome them on their return. Their songs are new and most skillfully and brilliantly sung. Each man is an artist in his own way, and the ensemble work is simply faultless. Tremendous applause after each selection and a great finish. 3 curtain calls and an encore.
