Cleveland, Ohio. June 24, '07. ZAZELL & VERNON CO. Presenting the pantomime "The Elopement." Four people, two women and two men, this act is very well known on circuit, and went as well as ever. Fourteen min. Full stage. JOHN CLINTON AND IRENE VERNON. BILLED A VAUDEVILLE SURPRISE. Man and women. Singing and talking. I cannot see where a surprise part comes in, as Mr. Clinton did more laughing at his jokes than his audience did. The only hit of the act is their last song, where Mr. Clinton leaves the stage and walked up the isle singing "Good Bye." They will have hard work making good in any other spot, than where they are. 15 Min. In one. PAPINTA. This act is very well known and was pleased to see it go as well as ever. There is no doubt that Papinta has got all the mirror dancers beaten to death. Received harty applause to all her dances and two curtain calls at close. 15 Min. Full stage. GRACE CAMERON. Sang three songs with three changes of costume each one receiving good applause. 10 Min. in one. EMMETT DEVOY AND CO. in his own dramatic fantasy "In Dreamland." The plot in this little sketch was thoroughly described in the Columbus criticism. And I thoroughly agree with him that this is one of the best novelty acts we have had. Mr. Devoy was handicapped this afternoon by having some of his parphanelea thrown on the floor before his act and some of the electrical effects were therefore ruined, but do not think the audience was aware of the fact as this is the first time that this act has been here. 3 Men and 3 women in a Special set. 23 Min. 2 cur. calls. RAYMOND CAVERLY Act well known. Some new stuff also some of their old, and no doubt up to this time they were the laughing hit of the bill. 20 Min. in 1. PAT ROONEY & MARION BENT This act is also well known and feel if they would cut out about four or five minutes of their talk and do more singing and dancing in fact I think they could do their whole act in one which would make it one of the best eccentric dancing acts in the business. This was thoroughly demonstrated this afternoon as their comedy received very little laughter but the dancing received hearty applause. The only trouble is Mr. Rooney does not do enough of it. 16 Min. C. D. F. Close in one. 4 Min. METZETTI TROUPE. Eight men and three women, the smallest one of the men made up as a girl who does all the double and tripple somersaults is a wonder. This act is very neatly dressed and to my mind is one of the best acts we have ever played. It should make good on any bill not barring "advaced vodveel" Ten min. Full stage.
