H. A. Daniels. Cleveland, Ohio, July 1, '07. KRONEMAN BROS. Two men. Comedy acrobats, working in clown make-up. This proved to be a very good opening act. There is an element of novelty in the act that caught the house. Full stage. 11 Min. THE BRITONS. Colored singing and dancing team. This act came near being the applause hit of the show, From the stand point of this afternoon's audience it was the best act in one on the bill. Drop in one. 11 Min. MR. BENJAMIN CHAPIN. In "At the White House." I was prepared to see this act fall down. I was agreeably disappointed. It started off rather slowly but gained speed and interest as it progressed and ended with a whirlwind of applause. The act recived four curtains. From the standpoint of this afternoon's audience it was a hit. Spec. Set, 32 Min. THE QUARTETTE. The first fall down on the bill. I was prepared to see an act as good as "That Quartette", but I found what was almost a frost. The solo work of the tenor is very bad. The work of the four men throughout was ragged, and I am wondering if I have the same four that played in the eastern houses. Whether they have a ringer-in or not. The act is not strong enough for this spot. They did 14 Min. today and the audience seemed glad when it was over. TROVOLLO This man's work is well known, while his stuff is good the act lacks ginger and seems to drag. We received a great many good laughs, but the act has not the fire in it that it should have. Spec. Set. Full stage 20 Min. Close in One. FOUR HUNTINGS. Comedy sketch "The Fool House." These people came in this morning and quit on account of their billing. I happened to have an extra act on hand and thirty minutes after they quit they discovered that they could not cripple the show and so they returned and insisted on working. I allowed them to work. They made good in this spot. Full stage 22 Min BESSIE WYNNE. I saw this young lady in New York and she was a terrific hit. I thought she would make a big noise here in Cleveland but I thought wrong. Her first two songs this afternoon went well but she went all to pieces on her last song where the fake old man sings from the balcony. She received hardly enough applause to bring her back for a bow. Personally, I like her work immensely. She is dainty clever, and artistic But as I do not pay to see the show, its not good business policy to force my likes and dislikes on the Clevelandites. Drop in one. 17 Min. WILTON BROS. Two men. Comedy bar act. They come along reglarly and always make good. Today was no exception. Full stage Ten Min. Kinetograph.
