CRITICISM E. F. ROGERS KEITH & PROCTOR'S 125TH STREET THEATRE JULY 8, 1907 ENCHANTED HEAD 1/m 1/w. Uses cabinet with incandescent lights. This is a sort of a black-art act with a woman singing. Wayburn is evidently going backward. The act is just about strong enough to open the show in the continuous houses. 13 minutes full stage. KATIE ROONEY This woman opened rather tame but got them on her singing in German and closed very strong with the impersonation of the late Pat Rooney. Good act if not placed too far down the bill. 15 minutes in one. HARRY & KATE JACKSON In the comedy "His Day Off". The business of the act is rather crude but they certainly got the laughs. Laughing hit of the show up to this time. SEARL & VIOLET ALLEN & CO. In the farce "The Travelling Man". Well known. Went fully as strong as before. 16 minutes in one. VAN DEN BERG OPERA CO. Presenting a condensed version of "The Mikado". Cast includes H. W. Tre Denick; John Mc Closkey; Alexander Clark; John rogers; Henry Scott; Mae Calder; Lillian Swain; Aimee Ashmore; Minnie Emmett. With one or two exceptions the company is excellent. For the first presentation they did fairly well. Secured quite a number of laughs and some fairly good applause for the singing. While They did not cause any sensation this afternoon I presume it will go better during the balance of the week. 1 hour and 21 minutes full stage.
