UNION SQUARE CRITICISM, WEEK OF AUGUST 5th, 1907. HARLEM BROS. These boys do a very nice act. The comedy in the act is not so bad. They are both very good acrobats, and it is a very good act to open the show with. Went very well. 10 minutes, full stage. Three shows. HELEN & MAY DICKSON Two very pretty girls make a very nice appearance on the stage, and both have good voices. I consider this act a very good act in one. 14 minutes. Three shows. O. M. MITCHELL. This fellow is not so bad, but the opening of the first part of the act is not good, but he improves towards the finish. For a three a day act I consider this very good. Went very well. 20 minutes, full stage. Three shows. JOSEPH CUSACK. I was very much disappointed in this man's act. I think he will go much better if I will put him about second on the bill. Went fair. 15 minutes in one. Three shows. THE KRATONS. This is one of the best Hoop rolling act I have ever seen for some time. They are both very clever, and their tricks are all new and novel and I consider it a very good act. Went very big. 10 minutes, full stage, two shows. DILL AND WARD. Man and woman in a very good singing and dancing act. They both make a very neat appearance on the stage, and they are both very clever dancers. This is a very good act. 10 minutes in one. FLORENCE SAUNDERS. This girl has improved 100% since I last saw her. She has a very good voice, and she makes a very good appearance on the stage; and sang three songs all of which went big, especially her last song which she was dressed in Cavalier costume. Went big. 10 minutes in one. Up to this time she went much better than anything else on the bill. For the salary this is a very good act in one. THE SIDE SHOW. I was very much disappointed in this act this afternoon, as I expected it to be something great. The manager told me that they were doing a new opening which was very poor, and if it were not for the work of the girl and Harry Pilcer, the act would not be worth anything. Went fair. 22 minutes, full stage. 191 a very good voice, but the act is not strong enough for this place, so I changed places with Friend & Downing putting them in this spot, and last night I found that the change was much more benificial to both of the acts. THE ZARROW TRIO. A very good Comedy Bicycle act. Three men, two comedians and one working straight. The straight man does some very clever tricks. The comedians are both funny, and it makes a very good closing act. KINETOGRAPH. The Light House Keeper. Interesting. Buying a Donkey. Funny. NOTE. The show this week is very good. The only fault it lacks a little comedy in the first part of the bill. I have changed the show around somewhat, and last night it went much better. REED ALBEE.
