(2) "A Night With the Poets". On at 8.40, 25 min, full stage. Second week. An entire change of poems and songs. This act has tremendous possibilities, which have not as yet been fully realized. It could be made a feature well worth five or six hundred a week, for even in its present somewhat crude condition it pleases all who see it and creates much favorable comment. It certainly suits our audiences better than it does us, perhaps because they do not notice little slips in presentation that are apparent to us. Work & Ower. On at 9.05, 7 min, in 1. A comedy acrobatic act that leaves the audience hungry for more. Particularly valuable on account of being in 1. Would be still more valuable if they could add three or four minutes more time. Grigolati's Aerial Ballet. On at 9.12, 11 min, full stage. One of the most beautiful stage spectacles vaudeville has ever seen. Will make people sit up and take notice in any city. I shall be only too glad to play it again during the winter season, if I can get it. Clifford & Burke. On at 9.23, 18 min, in 1. I consider this in many respects the best black-face act in 1 in vaudeville today. They always scored here. Wm. Courtleigh & Co. On at 9.41, 28 min, full stage. One of the best things of the season. I know that our people like it, for the reason that it held the entire audience until its finish, something that very few acts in this spot do in this house. It is one of the acts that I like to play for two straight weeks, when it is possible to get them, for I believe in that way we get more out of them. Kinetograph. On at 10.09. Showing "The Elks' Parade in Philadelphia", which made a hit on account of a very good view of Boston Lodge. "Lightning Sketches", fair comedy film. "1907 Derby"; this film is good in spots. "Madam's Tantrums", fair comic. Comment. A pretty heavy show for the summer season, but this is Old Home Week here, and we put together as good a bill as we could. I consider it a thoroughly good show. No cuts.
