[F?]. H. Brandt. Cleveland, Ohio. Aug. 12, '07. SMITH)BOWMAN TRIO Sing dancing and talking. Two men, one woman, colored. I was rather disappointed in this act, as I really expected more from them. While their songs are new they do not seem to get any great amount of applause. The dancing is very ordinary and the woman really amounts to very little in the act as she cannot sing and does very little dancing. Would hardly make good outside of No. 1 or 2. 13 Min. in One. WORK & OWER European Excentric acrobats. Two men. Both working in comedy make-up and I assure you it is one of the best little acts of its kind. Received hearty applause all through the act. 4 Min. in two. FOUR STEWART SISTERS. The original English dancing dolls. This act is very similar to the Three Mad Caps, in an acrobatic way and to the Pony Ballet in a dancing way. While there is nothing unusually great about this act it is very good and should make good most any where. Act very nicely costumed. 11 Min. in 4. ARNOLDO'S LEOPARDS. While this act seemed to be rather quiet for an animal act, it seemed to please this afternoon's audience very much. Mr. Arnoldo has seven leopards which he turns into a cage at one time. Making them go through the usual stunts that animals of this kind perform. Nothing wonderful about this act, but good. 17 Min. Full stage. INTERMISSION 10 MIN. MR. JAMES THORNTON It has been sometime since Mr. Thornton has played Cleveland, and was glad to see him go so well this afternoon. Without a doubt he was the laughing hit of the show. 18 Min. in one. ESTELLE WORDETTE & CO. In "A Honeymoon In The Catskills." This act is well known on the circuit, but did not seem to go as well as when last seen here probably due to the audience being pretty tired from laughing at Jim Thornton, with the assistance of a very hot day. 19 Min. interior. MAGGIE CLINE. The Irish Queen. I was glad to see that Clevelanders had not forgotten Miss Cline as she received very hearty applause on her entrance. All of her songs received good applause. Especially her closing song which everybody knows, "Throw Him Down McClusky." 14 Min. in One. WORLD FAMOUS BUCKNER Champion Trick Cyclist. This man has a very good act, and does some very clever things on a bycicle the main fault being that the act drags, and he seems to be killing an awful lot of time between each one of his stunts. Carries a good deal of parapherrnalea and one man assistant. His work is similar to that of Ralph Johnson but lacks the snap and ginger that is in Johnson's act. Hardly strong enough to close this show. Full stage. 17 Min.
