CONTINUED. NED NYE AND GIRLS. He is doing the same act as when he played here last, and the only exception is that he has only two girls instead of about six. These girls are both very clever dancers. Mr. Nye introduces two or three new songs all of which went very well. I am sure the act would make good on any bill not too far down. Went very well. 18 minutes, full stage, and close about four minutes in one. SEARS. This fellow does a very good act. His tricks are all very good, considering his illusions are also good, but was unable to do his best illusion this afternoon, on account of one of his trunks not arriving in time. Went very well. 22 minutes, full stage. HOWELL AND SCOTT. This is a very bad act, and it is the worst I have ever seen. Both are very poor dialects, and I do not see how they ever got on the circuit. I am going to put them up in James Cullen's place and bring James Cullen down here to-night. 15 minutes in one. METZETTI TROUPE This being their first time they ever worked in some time, they had missed a few of their tricks, but considering all this it is one of the best acrobatic acts in the country, and was the hit of the bill this afternoon. 9 minutes, full stage. KINETOGRAPH. His first success. Interesting. The Poachers Daughter. Good. Roller Skating Craze. Very funny. NOTE. The show this week is not as good as it might have been. It lacks comedy. It is impossible to try and get three or four big feature acts merely for the benifit of having something out front on the eight sheet, and I think a few people ought to come down from the office and look at some of these acts and they would be convinced that a good genuine variety show with plenty of comedy and good acts is a 100% better than four or five of these tremendous big acts that do not seem to please the audience, and makes the show cost about $2500 when I can do just as well with a $1800 or $200 show.
